Fedora and Golden both should only be considered if absolutely every other decent coach has turned us down.

Talent is sorely lacking on UNC's defense. He did what we expected Dooley to do, at minimum, this year. Plus, UNC isn't fielding several NFL players on offense like Dooley was.

My first appearance in this thread, but I like Fedora and what he brings to the table. Clearly he has several qualities espoused by Dave Hart:
Head Coach Experience
SEC Experience
History with turnarounds
Winning Record
Fan/Player-Friendly style of play

I just don't see him leaving Carolina after one season.

If not for the NCAA punishment, UNC would be playing for the ACC title this weekend.

If we keep Fedora and he can muster ANY improvement on defense, I feel confident we can win 10 games in his SECOND season.

After that, all bets are off on how long he stays.

I'd be surprised if he bolted after one year.

There are 3 schools who will be looking to make a jump after the NCAA comes down on them more: Fedora, Golden and O'Brien.

What a lot of people do not understand is that no matter who the coach is, granted as long as it is a solid hire, as long as we dedicate the money to building a solid staff this will be a team that will bounce back quickly to its winning ways...

I know alot of people on here are all over Gruden like white on rice but the facts are Fedora is a better coach and would own him if they were in the same conference.

Gruden was an Ok coach in the NFL but he wasn't anything fancy and he didn't walk away from Tampa by choice...he was fired.


Fedora on the other hand has broken school records (the goo kind) and every place he has coached so far. He has also in his first year at UNC got them tied for 1st.


The guy is an insane play caller and he was able to pull 5 stars when he was at Southern Miss. 5 stars people! At Sourthen Miss! Let that sink in.


I wish we had never went after Gruden and had solely went after Fedora but now is our chance. F Gruden and go get a real coach. Not an announcer.

If he hires Fedora they won't have the budget to give him an open checkbook. Maybe they think they will but after hiring another coach people have to lookup the fans will stop spending money on UT. They hire him then they can kiss my money good-bye alog with a whole bunch of other fans.
Fedora is one step above Dooley which is still way below the level of coach we need to return us to respectability. If they hire him I'm done with UT and will nolonger watch college football.

He wasn't okay. Never before was a coach traded for:Two first-rounders, two second-rounders, and $8 million in cash. He's good. We aren't talking Belichick great, but good.

Enlighten me then because all my research shows he is Mr. Mediocre as a head coach. i don't give a crap about what he's done as an assistant. Heck Dooley won a championship as an assistant on Sabans staff. He didn't even lift up Southern Miss, he just continued their mediocrity with his last year there being the only exception.
If were aiming for guys on this level I'd much rather go for Strong. he's managed the same 10-2 regular season best as fedora, in less time, in a better conference. Also looking at UNCs schedule they seem to have had the ame problem we had, they gave up alot of points. Strong is a D minded coach which is exactly what we need. We don't need another guy that can put together an offense but can't put together a defense, fedoras not gonna be able to outscore opponents when his offense is getting mauled by SEC defenses and his defense cant stop SEC offenses.
Fedora is just Dooley2.0 waiting to happen.
