The Official Larry Fedora Thread I

You realize he was up big at halftime (when he made this speech) and they blew the lead, right? They lost to ECU.

Nice try but...your wrong. This was last years game @ ecu. They won big. Do you really think southerns home locker room looks like that?

I know alot of people on here are all over Gruden like white on rice but the facts are Fedora is a better coach and would own him if they were in the same conference.

Gruden was an Ok coach in the NFL but he wasn't anything fancy and he didn't walk away from Tampa by choice...he was fired.

Fedora on the other hand has broken school records (the goo kind) and every place he has coached so far. He has also in his first year at UNC got them tied for 1st.

The guy is an insane play caller and he was able to pull 5 stars when he was at Southern Miss. 5 stars people! At Sourthen Miss! Let that sink in.

I wish we had never went after Gruden and had solely went after Fedora but now is our chance. F Gruden and go get a real coach. Not an announcer.

You sold me. I'm on the Fedora. bandwagon now.

Enlighten me then because all my research shows he is Mr. Mediocre as a head coach. i don't give a crap about what he's done as an assistant. Heck Dooley won a championship as an assistant on Sabans staff. He didn't even lift up Southern Miss, he just continued their mediocrity with his last year there being the only exception.
If were aiming for guys on this level I'd much rather go for Strong. he's managed the same 10-2 regular season best as fedora, in less time, in a better conference. Also looking at UNCs schedule they seem to have had the ame problem we had, they gave up alot of points. Strong is a D minded coach which is exactly what we need. We don't need another guy that can put together an offense but can't put together a defense, fedoras not gonna be able to outscore opponents when his offense is getting mauled by SEC defenses and his defense cant stop SEC offenses.
Fedora is just Dooley2.0 waiting to happen.

Louisville has been winning since '98. Meaning it's not like Strong is some kind of savior that walked into a barren wasteland and made it fertile. Fedora's winning percentage > Strong's winning percentage. Fedora's class > Strong's class.

The defensive minded part should not make Strong the coach. It's as if you believe that Fedora will be unable to hire a good defensive coordinator. In my eyes Fedora is the better coach. The fact that he isn't a defensive guy shouldn't disqualify him. To each his own though.

He says after taking a long pull from his CRACK PIPE.

I REALLY hope you guys don't lure him away. He's made a huge difference for us in just one season, and might be able to create a power (as much as that's possible) in Chapel Hill.

He does everything right, beginning with his attitude and energy.

Dude benchpresses 375.

We've never scored this many points in a season, and everyone loves this hurry-up offense.

If we can just get our defensive secondary up to "mediocre," we'll win the Coastal Division every year and play for the ACC championship, easily.

Fedora's a good guy, so I'm hoping his honor won't let him pull a Kiffin. It'd kill UNC after losing Butch Davis and all that potential we had built up.

I'd love to see TN with a great coach and team, just not our guy, at least for a FEW more years.

I understand that UNC will likely always be a steppingstone job, but we need some stability for a while.

Mack Brown took UNC to the Top 10, and then bolted for Texas.

Written like a lot of VolReporter's posts

Fedora is out front for me. Freeze would be great too, but I hear his name mentioned surprisingly little. Turned Ole Miss from a laughing stock to a respectable team in 1 year. Would like to see him come into play, but I would love to see what Fedora could do here.

More proven at the college level. Gruden is a short term fix. He will bail for the NFL.

Southern miss mediocre? Ok

Fedora kept their consecutive winning seasons and consecutive bowl streak goin. He got recruits there that bower could have never had a chance at. He posted a 12 win season. 2 bowl wins(shoulda been three, michael bush fumbled that damn ball) Hell i know hes not what alot of people want but i watched him for 4 years at southern. Never an emty stadium, players loved him, brought back tradition there.

Under fedora the vols would have the top offense in the nation hands down. He will bring recruits because hes fawkin fire hoss. Who wouldnt wanna play for a guy with that much intensity. Im gettin a chubby just the thought of him being the coach. No homo of course :)

For all those talking about Louisville's D, they gave up over 30 points 4 times this year, (including 45 to Syracuse!) to Big East and an ACC team. They haven't exactly been the Steel Curtain.
