Ummmmm no.... Need a big splas, not an unknown..

You wanna know how good Fedora is?

The team he just left went 0-12. After they went 12-2. And he's taken over a mess at UNC. And can recruit.

He should be #3 behind Gruden and Stoops.

I'd love him here, he's a very energetic guy too. Not boring like Strong. I just can't see Strong making a strong pitch to any recruit.

Still like Strong better at 3, but you can't lose with either one of them.

If we go Fedora, we might as well go Mullen or Franklin. Good coaches but not the impact hire our program needs.

People have deluded themselves into thinking that Gruden is the only possible hire. Plenty of good coaches out there.

Would the fan base be satisfied? More importantly, would the big money permit it?

Who cares what the fan base thinks? The fan base thought Kiffin was the savior and that Dooley was going to have a winning record this year.

And if they can't get Gruden or Stoops, the big money doesn't know anyone else. Might as well let Hart do his job then.

I, for one, am NOT part of the deluded masses. Plenty of good coaches. Not plenty of great coaches. We need somebody who can breathe life into the program quickly. It is the nature of our fan base and recent history that predicates a 'big splash' type hire. Maybe I'm wrong. Wouldn't be the first time...

Strong is more proven as a recruiter.

I think Fedora is a little better coach.

Either way, they are 3a and 3b

UTAD's Financial office and those responsible for the P&L cares greatly what the fan base thinks.

I thought I had seen on here where Strong's classes had be ranked in the 40s

Additionally, I was under the impression he was a 'Defensive-minded' guy. Louisville's defense was abysmal. Of course, coming from a UT fan, that's a classic case of pot and kettle.

In terms of getting a hire, they don't.

UT football can't help it. They will pack the stadium at the beginning of next year. If Fedora/Strong can kick some ass (maybe 8-4) then people will show up for 2014.

Winning cures all.

I've been hollerin this. He is first on my list. Helluva coach and recruiter. And I'll bet anything he would leave unc right now. Hated not seeing him on the sidelines this year at southern. Dropped my season tickets soon as Eloss was hired

The last two years he has had very strong recruiting classes.

There is not a cap on recruiting in the Big East for signees. He only has nine commitments this year. Very few seniors.

Our fan base is full of morons just like any other one. We aren't on the edge of a cliff. Name is fairly meaningless to me as is the opinion of the majority. If you win football games and establish an organizational structure that is designed to win from top to bottom that is all that matters. People won't be satisfied either way. People flocked to Dooley when he was hired. Look how that turned out. I'm not denying that Gruden is likely the best candidate that we are aware of, but he isn't the only one and we cannot predict how successful he will be nor other others, we can only take educated guesses. Just very sick of the Gruden only crowd that will whine and cry if we do not hire him. I suppose I shouldn't expect anything different.

Must suck going from a 12 win to a 12 loss season for Eagles fans.

This is the part I'm struggling most with. If the hire isn't up to 'expectations', and the economy stays in the dumpster, I'm betting 90,000 will be a good Saturday...Again, I've been wrong many times before.
