The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

The new car is a flop in its current form. The simplest fix on most ovals is to take away the ability to shift. That allows an ill handling car to maintain speed. The teams inability to work on the car goes against the spirit of the sport. I’m just not a fan.

In addition to your point with competitiveness being an issue, safety is also a concern. The sport has taken several steps backwards with this new car. Some driver is going to have a near fatal injury, if actions aren’t taken soon.

NASCAR has always been a clown show, and it's only gotten worse since Little Billy passed on. Not a lick of sense, and making change for the sake of change.

I like Berry and am glad he got his opportunity, I think it is well-deserved.

That said, SHR's performance over the past few years has decreased dramatically and I think Harvick was/is carrying them on his shoulders.

With Berry's addition, they have 3 talented drivers who can win and compete at the highest level (never been impressed with the 10), but they seem to lack the speed they once had. I truly hope for Berry, Preece and Briscoe's sake that they figure out the missing piece on the racing development side of the house.

NASCAR should look into making Nashville an evening race, if they’re gonna run it during the summer. I feel for those fans that are gonna be there tomorrow.
They’ve moved the start time back 2 hours each year. Looks like most of the stands should be in the shade when it starts. Will be hot tailgating though.

SHR about to have all young guys in declining subpar equipment. Eerily similar to Roush’s decline over a decade ago.
I feel like Tony isn't as focused in SHR as he should be. Going out and running dragsters while his team is struggling the way it is doesn't look like a very invested owner to me.

I’d certainly understand that argument. Just a few years ago, SHR was challenging Hendrick and JGR, but they’ve fallen off so much.
