As nice as the Sugar Bowl would be, it's not what it once was. And I'd rather have a shot at winning the SECCG (as small of a chance as it might have been).

You're already talking down the Sugar Bowl? Come on. That would be a great opportunity and step for the program. (Not saying it happens because I think it's a long shot.) The Sugar Bowl has always been a marquee bowl and that hasn't changed.

I'll gladly take the sugar bowl.

It's not the seccg, but it's a hell of a consolation prize.

Absolutely. I'd rather play in the SECC game, but skipping that likely beat down and playing in a big six bowl definitely seems like a tolerable alternative.

A sugar bowl matchup against OU is intriguing. Granted, we'd have to score 50, but I know this team would be motivated after last year.

Can't agree more with this statement. With the number of key injuries, a shot a the Sugar Bowl is amazing. And I hope we get to play in it.

I disagree. We weren't really hammered with injuries until aTm and Bama, right? Then we played a bunch of cupcakes and lost to one of them. I don't really think beating a few bad teams, despite injuries, is amazing.

I disagree, after Ohio we were down 18 key players on offense and D. We managed to beat UF/UGA and almost AM without our top defensive stars. Go back and look.
Off the top of my head I can name Sutton, JRM, Kirkland, Sapp, Lewis, Wiseman

18 key players? Do we have that many key players total? JRM and Sutton were huge losses, but we had JRM for Florida, right?

Georgia is not very good. We should be able to beat them with a some starters missing. I'll give you Florida, but we still should have beat SC, so still not amazing, IMO.

JRM went two plays, Wiseman did not play, Kirkland out, his back up Sapp out, Coleman hobbled, another o lineman out that I can't recall, Martin unable to go at CB, it was 10 starters or back ups out. And to maitain this team after losing 22 guys, amazing we can have a shot at the Sugar Bowl. The loss to SC is bad but ask Michigan how they lost to Iowa. It happens.

Michigan didn't lose to Muschamp 3 straight years. I don't think it was a fluke.

Va Tech was the beginning losing Kirkland. Ohio was the worst game for injuries. It was downhill from there. Luckily, we still had our DT rotation for Florida, Georgia, and A&M. That was the difference before we lost Tuttle, Danny O, and KMac.

Yeah, we've been gashed by everyone since.
