The Official SC @ #1 Tennessee Series Thread (Thurs. May 16 6:30PM EST SECNET+) (Fri. May 17 6:30PM EST SECNET+) (Sat. May 18 1PM EST SECNET+)

Grateful for that. Just learned about the crazy weather in your area. Hunker down.
That's one good thing about living in East Tennessee, weather usually isn't an issue much. Winters use to be the worst but hell it doesn't even snow anymore lol.

So happy to see Ensley have some big AB success. He really struggled most of the season but the last few games he has been a difference maker.

Love this team. No quit anywhere in the lineup.
He’s also one of the best CFs in college baseball. Ensley‘s leadership is a huge reason for our success.

We are better than Kentucky we deserve the number one seed
Let us host and give that 1 seed to anyone else. For me, it's right there with the florida game in football or playing purdue in hoops. Just know the history and want no part of the 1 seed. I prefer to be overlooked and disrespected.

No, not case closed.

It's a legitimate question I wanted to know about. I did not state as a fact that the guy is a weak fielder.
He has had some errors during his career, had a rough game in the field tonite and I was asking about that from some of you who have probably followed the team more closely than I have.
I am hoping the answer is that tonite was an aberration for him this year. Don't get so defensive over a question of curiosity.
He’s a serviceable 2B and capable of making some very athletic plays. He will likely play LF in MLB. He’s putting up one of the best seasons at the plate in UT baseball history. We are blessed to witness this season. CMO is a fierce competitor and one of the best to play at UT.

Remember when individuals complained continuously about Ensley and Cal Starks ? I do.
Yes sir. The NegaVols love to complain and throw players under the bus. With that said, I love those guys! Great leaders, loyal, and have huge hearts. They both play elite defense and come up with clutch hits. Their teammates love them too!

their other baseball championship shirt is probably thread bear by now
Wouldn't shovel dirt on the Kats in hoops just yet. Granted, the amount of stars isn't as high as during Cal's time, but Pope isn't grabbing a bunch of stiffs. Never know when a roster will come together and the results are greater than the sum of their parts. Best take 'em seriously when they show up on the schedule.....especially after they've added Lanier.

Credit Drew Beam for a great performance & outstanding leadership. Despite horrible defensive support, he never pouted or showed frustration or displeasure to his teammates. Guys probably felt bad enough making errors but they were able to turn it around instead for feeling more pressure from Drew making a scene like we’ve seen in years past.

I think Peebles and Bargo make the most since but I think Tony is having trouble making your number 2 catcher the starting DH , thats why the top of our lineup has to keep hitting

Do you think Burke is more of a DH in MLB ?

Seeding. The two division champions shall be automatically seeded number one and number two based on winning percentage in Conference competition. The remaining teams shall be seeded numbers three through twelve based on winning percentage without regard to division. Ties will be broken in the following manner:

1. Two-Team Tie. The following procedure will be used in the following order until the tie is broken:
A. Won-lost results of head-to-head competition between the two tied teams.
B. If two-teams are divisional opponents:
(1) Won-lost percentage within their division (over the 15-game Conference division schedule).
(2) Won-lost percentage of the two teams versus the No. 1 team in their division (and proceeding through the No. 7 team, if necessary).
C. If two teams are not divisional opponents:
(1) Won-lost record of the two teams versus the No. 1 seed using common opponents only (and proceeding through the No. 12 seed, if necessary).
(2) Coin flip by the Commissioner.

2. Three-Team Tie (or more). The following procedure will be used in the following order until the tie is broken: (Note: If the three tied teams have three different records against each other, they shall be seeded in best-percentage order.) Otherwise, once the tie has been reduced to two teams, the two-team tiebreaker procedure will be used.
A. If all three teams are common opponents: Total won-lost percentage of games played among the tied teams.
B. Won-lost percentage of the tied teams versus the No. 1 seed and proceeding through the No. 12 seed, if necessary, using common opponents only.
C. If three or more teams still are tied, the Commissioner will conduct a draw.
