SPI agree with you, but others think we have the best coaching staff in the country.
Again, I'm all for our staff! Hope they stay for years and years. BUT THEY ARE LIMITED. Need a "baseball guy" in the dugout to help out in-game and at practice with things like...i don't know .....base running? Holding runners on? Recruit a catcher? But hey, if ya played a thousand plus games, including high level pro, don't mean much around here when ya offer good advice or criticism.......fwiw...
Sincerly,

Yeah I agree. Wish they would change the approach.
Well, catchers at the next level don’t bounce balls off the pitchers mound trying to throw runners out at second. This is not the next level, this is college. Pitchers control running game with varied looks, long and short holds, pickoffs, being quick to the plate, etcSorry. Can't agree. Most don't do it at next level so why now. Catchers hold runners.
They may teach it in Minors but in watching major leagues some still go from wind up instead of stretch they just quicken their delivery to home plateThey’re all going pro, at least our starters are. They will be forced to learn how to actually pitch from the stretch when they get to the minors regardless. They might as well learn now, because the pro teams won’t care about it being unnatural.
This is awesome. Can’t say I argue with the results, long term. Can say I have evolved in my thinking on this. Get the batter and the baserunners don’t matter. We’ve done it the last few years…Can I quote the great Frank Anderson? "If you do your job pitching, they can only get to third by stealing." Looked like it worked again.
