I'd say beating Florida 3 out of 4 times when they won the national title was nothing to sneeze at though.

Pearl also took Dane Bradshaw and made him a 4 and won with him playing against guys much bigger than him. People can say what they want about Pearl's X's and O's, but he found ways to win most of the time. However, his tenure is over. This is now Martin's team and right now I've not seen much in these last few games to make me hopeful for what he can do in the future. I hope he gets better players in or players that fit into his system, but he has now been outcoached and his team outplayed by two mid-major programs in two straight games. That is on him.

They didn't quit as much as they had the fight hammered out of them playing UGA, LSU, Bama and USC in consecutive weeks. 18 and 19 year olds getting abused by 22 and 23 year old NFL bound guys tend to not hold up well. Throw in some fans that bash them at every turn. And presto-chango you get a loss to Kentucky.

We gave Tatum time. He's a senior and he still sucks. I'm hesitant to give someone like Hall, who's shown no signs of being worth a crap, much more time.

Agreed on these points. The younger guys just need to survive this year. Hopefully some of them pan out.

And if Dooley wins 7 games and his bowl game he will most likely be back. People keep expecting us to somehow just leap to the front of the SEC East. It's been bad for 4 straight years. Why do you suddenly expect to get exponentially better in a conference as tough as the SEC?

Yes we did. As long as Pearl had someone that could bail out his inability to coach against a zone (Lofton, JaJuan, and Chism and Hopson when they were hot). He usually won games by out scouting teams. And that was as much his staff as it was him.

I will blame Pearl on Hall's growth or lack of growth, just like I would blame Martin on crap play during crucial times with Golden. It is pretty obvious he doesn't no where with the ball so he ends up with a kamikaze drive or throwing the ball away - given practice this should have been fixed already..just like our crap defense.

We will know more about where we stand with Dooley after next year. Unless we have another rash of injuries to key players, we should be much better. Hell, we couldn't be a lot worse, but most people expect 7-5 or 8-4. I think that is doable.

Martin will be given 3 years unless we just fall off the face of the earth next year. His team will have to improve next year when he gets his entire team back minus Tatum which won't be a loss really. Right now, though, we look clueless at times on offense and we play matador defense.

I don't care if the waterboy was the reason we won every year and went to tournament every year. Either way, Pearl was responsible for everything under his tenure, including his firing.

With that schedule if he only wins 7 games it shouldn't be enough.

Dude, your so lost! The reason Martin is playing the guys that Pearl left on the bench last year is because that's all that's left. And if Pearl was still here it would probably still be the same guys on the floor.

Well you have to have shooters to shoot a team out of a zone too and he had them. He recruited two of them and inherited two of them. His teams also got a lot of garbage baskets off the full court press and after time outs when the other team couldn't inbound the ball and we'd get a turnover.

Right now we don't have a point guard that knows how to get the ball inside against a zone and we don't have consistent outside shooters to shoot a team out of a zone. McCrae came on late, but it was too little too late.

I still don't know what happened to not playing Miller in the 2nd half. He had 13 points and 7 boards in 13 minutes of play. Maymon had 8 boards in 30 minutes of play.

You have no way to know this, and if you did, you would be making $200/hr. All we have to go on is prior results which were pretty good under Pearl.
