Or we could get rid of innings altogether, just have the away team continually bat until 27 outs and then switch and do the same for the home team. No more pesky pitcher warm up time or runners stranded on base!

To be fair to Delmonico, no one was beating LSU in that time period. They were the first big budget SEC school to give a damn (MissState cared but- hey! that's Starkville) and LSU fans CARED a lot because they really sucked at allt he revenue sports after the Shaq/Jackson era came to an end in hoops.

Baton Rouge during those years never had a minor league team there. LSU WAS baseball in a pretty large city.

I will have to say the three loyal lsu fans behind me were a great conversation last night.
Had a well-known LSU fan ask my wife today for a signed Kirby ball. She said Kirby is her favorite college baseball player not wearing purple. She met kirby in Omaha and he signed something for her nephew

Tiger, I will always call it 2 errors regardless that the one was ruled as an infield hit. The ball should have been thrown to first since there were 2 outs, and then he bobbled the ball after the missed attempted tag. It was a weak ruling by the home team to pad LSU’s stats. That’s an error all day long.
