Anybody who wasn’t regularly playing them before the Bertman era probably has a terrible record there.

Why couldn't Tennessee find a Bertman or Polk type of manager in the 70's and 80's and early 90's before Delmonico?

I am surprised that Delmonico did not win a few more games in Baton Rouge during his tenure.

It will take Vitello 12 to 15 more years to even up this series or get it close in Baton Rouge.

To be fair to Delmonico, no one was beating LSU in that time period. They were the first big budget SEC school to give a damn (MissState cared but- hey! that's Starkville) and LSU fans CARED a lot because they really sucked at allt he revenue sports after the Shaq/Jackson era came to an end in hoops.

Very good. I know the couple I am sitting with, it is their season tickets, and met several other LSU fans.

LSU fans don’t care much for CTV.

They loved him when they were courting him. They talked so much ish at the Super’s about coming to town to take him back win or lose. They’re in disbelief someone would spurn the opportunity to live in the lovely BR.

However you want to define a lead is up to you; but either way my point still stands. There’s nothing positive about scoring in the top half of an inning when your opponent scores more in the bottom half. Matter of fact; I’d say it’s actually more depressing and negative than positive.

I guess you didn’t know that an error is considered a mistake. LSU had an error in the top 9 that we didn’t capitalize on… we’re just supposed to ignore that?

So if you have more runs than the other team at any point it is not necessarily a lead?

Sure you can play semantics all you want but it looks and sounds pathetic to brag when that lead is only bc we have had more at bats. Because unlike football, in baseball a team can only score while at bat.

In the late 70s and early 80s, we didn’t care about baseball. For a while John Whited was coach, only because was related to Johnny Majors.

This whole discussion made me realize that my Falcons easily won the first half against the Pats in that Super Bowl. There aren’t even top/bottom of innings to worry about in football. The Pats even got the ball first and we still won the first half! I’ve decided to take newfound pride in that accomplishment. We dominated the first half and who cares what happened after that!

Dude you know full good and well you’re just being a semantic a**hole right now. The point i made in my OP was saying how there is no silver lining about being ahead 1-0, when it was only 1-0 bc Lsu hadn’t batted yet. That would be like trying to brag about needing a handicap in golf.

Yeah that’s possible and if that was to
Happen then that would be something to build momentum on and be positive about going forward. But there wasn’t ever a time in the game that felt like we were in control, so how did we “gift them the game” or “give them the game”, it just doesn’t make sense to me.

We made 2 errors in the 8th inning which gave them 5 outs. It should have been 2-2 entering the 9th IF we hadn‘t made those crucial mistakes. It happens, it’s baseball.

Or we could get rid of innings altogether, just have the away team continually bat until 27 outs and then switch and do the same for the home team. No more pesky pitcher warm up time or runners stranded on base!
