The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

I was never a MM fan. He's a average coach at best. Robusky's offense was predictable and underused the WRs. LeBeau was a great coach at one point but time and time again teams would have a receiver wide open in the middle of the field and dink us all the way down for a score.....just like NE did.

Bring Josh in

Defense was not this teams problem imo. I would be fine if LeBeau came back. The offense regressed all year and the big reason we sucked in December.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but can someone sell me on josh McDaniels? I know everyone is hyped about this guy, and I want to understand what the hype is based upon. What do we think has changed since he was dropped at Denver?

Please help.

Not understanding the McDaniels love either. I do think he would cater the offense around Marcus which would be nice.

Okay, maybe you DO fire Mularkey after winning the franchise's first playoff game since 2003.

Amy Adams: "In fact, we did discuss extending his future with our team over the past week, but in those discussions about the direction of the team, it became evident that we saw different paths to achieve greater success."

Sounds like she wanted someone gone and he didnt

Likely nothing really. Maybe he knows not to videotape tape teams when he’s not supposed to anymore?

Lets hope this is a Golden State Warriors, Mark Jackson getting fired to Steve Kerr situation. Takes what we have and puts us in a higher place. That team knew they were capable of better and they got there. I think the titans could be the same.

Happy days are back again! Man what a season, win a playoff game and now we hopefully get a new coach who will continue Marcus' development couldn't ask for a better 24 hours. I do feel bad for Mularkey a bit, his blind loyalty to his people cost him another job. He did change the culture here and brought back some toughness and physicality that we lacked. We should be a prime landing spot for a good HC:

1. Good young QB
2. A good roster who made the playoffs and won
3. Great city and location
4. Over $54 million in available cap space with several contracts that we can get out of without little to none cap hits
5. A good young GM as well

I do wonder if this was Jon Robinson making a power play or if it was Amy Adams? I have to think it was Amy because she was the one who hired Mike in the first place. Also who do you guys want now? Wonder if we will think about looking into the college ranks?

ESPN talking on how Marcus has regressed over the past three years, not got better. Wouldnt be surprised if Robusky is the reason

Never a fan of MM’s. They must’ve wanted him to fire Robiskie and he didn’t want them to

They need to knock this hire out of the park. I didn't like MM/Robiskie whatsoever, but at the same time, 19-15 with a playoff win is so much better than 5-27.

Battered Titans fan syndrome, I guess. There's a good point to be made about the value of being proactive given the fact that the AFC South is rapidly improving and going 5-1 in the division is extremely unlikely next year with Watson returning, the Jags likely continuing to get better, and the Colts pretty much always having the Titans' number, especially if Luck is able to return.

I supported the removal of the interim tag on Mularkey originally. IMO, it was the right move to keep things moving in a better direction. No high quality coach was going to the Titans with that roster and issues in ownership back then.

But now... Mularkey proved he learned nothing from his previous HC gig and sealed his fate by hiring Robiskie and continuing to push a 2+ decades old offensive football style.

Great move. Proves Amy has stepped up as a leader along with Jon Robinson. Jon gets to do with coaching what he did with the roster improvement. He's the man until he isn't. Hope he hires somebody that is right for the future and can make best use of the roster. This is a great day for Titans football.

What coaches would cause us to weep with sadness?

Fisher

Jim Caldwell - I think he’s like Mularky, can keep franchise respectable but not much further

Who else?
