What coaches would cause us to weep with sadness?
Fisher
Jim Caldwell - I think hes like Mularky, can keep franchise respectable but not much further
Who else?
Lane - maybe one day when he grows up and matures. He's still the senior frat guy heading up all the keggers not a NFL leader coaching adults. He's learning but not ready yet.
Norv Turner - yeah, he just took the OC job at Car but if he got the HC job here I'd throw in the towel. Every team he's touched as a HC has gone down the crapper. I'd take him as an OC, though.
Wade Phillips - see Norv Turner.
John Fox
Mike Shula
Tee Martin
They need to knock this hire out of the park. I didn't like MM/Robiskie whatsoever, but at the same time, 19-15 with a playoff win is so much better than 5-27.
Battered Titans fan syndrome, I guess. There's a good point to be made about the value of being proactive given the fact that the AFC South is rapidly improving and going 5-1 in the division is extremely unlikely next year with Watson returning, the Jags likely continuing to get better, and the Colts pretty much always having the Titans' number, especially if Luck is able to return.
Michael Lombardi thinks the McDaneils ship has sailed and that he'll land at Indy. I mean I'm glad we made the change but winning week 17 against Jacksonville and winning against KC in the playoffs has put us way behind other teams with openings.
Not gonna lie, Id totally take Lane Kiffin. Which I know is BS and hypocritical since he was worse than Josh McDaniels. I just love his talk, reminds me of spurrier.
Sounds like Mularkey wouldn't make changes so he got booted. I'm happy for that reason. I'd prefer to keep Mularkey with a change at OC but he thought we were good offense.. he's out.
All that to say it sounds also like a Butch scenario. Where no matter if there was a change at OC the offense would remain the same bc it was his. Also another reason to move on.
