The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

On what grounds? You don't even know the hire.

And again, he took a playoff roster and made it worse.

If Vrabel was the one making the draft picks, trades, and signings (and contract terms), sure he deserves his blame. But to sit here and say that he handpicked every draft choice and signing is absurd. The last two seasons were a culmination of first round busts, poor roster management, and dumbass contract financials that hamstrung the cap.

Have you missed the parts where Vrabel wanted control of roster construction, or did every Titans reporter make that up?

Nope.

See article in post above yours. It is clear that the GM was drafting the type players Vrabel wanted to fit his system and he was unwilling to change the system. The results indicate that assertion to be 100% correct.

So we fire Vrabel and instead of going the offensive coach route all of our requests are for defensive guys? Make it make sense?
Do you appreciate how the Texans have turned things around and are getting better on O?

I prefer an O HC as well, but, if the guy they pick is aggressive and goes current with the O scheme using an OC that can get it done, I'm good with it.

God no defensive guys please. This franchise needs an awakening to what football is in the 2020s.
I agree but I'd be open to a defensive coach that is open to bringing in a proven offensive coaching mind who runs a modern passing offense.

But I think it's easier to run to l it the opposite way, with an O minded head coach with a proven defensive coordinator.

I've never understood the defensive/offensive head coach argument. A head coach whether he comes from a DC or OC background should hire the best coordinators available. Do people actually thing a former DC just ignores the offence?
