The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

Can someone explain why tf we didn't even consider Harbaugh? I like Callahan, but seriously....how ridiculous can you be to not interview Harbaugh.

The Adams family is never going to hire an established head coach. Only twice in the history of the franchise have they hired a HC with NFL/professional football head coaching experience.

Brian Callahan won’t have a say. Ran drafted Levis and isn’t bailing on him in year 2. Plus, not sure Levis commands much trade value to make it worth it.
I already don't believe Levis can be good enough to win a super bowl, but if we can't fix the o-line next year it may ruin him. He'll get hurt and he'll turn the ball over.

I'm just hoping for a miracle.

I get the judgments about the Adams Family experience. Not been a fan either. Until recently.

But this is going 180 degrees away from the past so far.

Levis will succeed or blow himself up based on his own efforts. The hope is he will be at least serviceable for a couple of seasons while they rebuild the core of the roster and implement the system/schemes. By then we will know about mayo boy. Callahan is a sharp guy, he will figure it out.

That’s largely because retreads don’t have a great track record at this level. It’s not like college ball.

For every Andy Reid or Pete Carroll, you get a dozen Ken Whisenhunts and Ron Riveras.

This day and age you’re just as well off, if not better off, rolling with an up-and-comer.

Hopefully Brian Callahan trades Levis and gets one of either Williams, Daniels or Penix.
I was intrigued by Penix until I watched him. I don't think his game translates well to the NFL. Williams Ford under pressure like a folding chair. Daniels is interesting, he may have something....... Hell I could be wrong about all 3 though.

But honestly I like Levis's potential with the right offensive minded coach. And I was completely skeptical of him coming out of last year's draft and was disappointed at first we picked him.

For whatever that's worth I'd take Levis over those 3 at this point.

The only reasonble knock i can think of on Penix is his durability.

But that post screams of you having only watched him play against Michigan. Not a ton of QB's play well with that much pressure. Like zero do. Besides that game he was elite and clutch.

I'm just afraid that we are going to be stuck with another average middle of the pack QB again.

List of QB's better than Levis is looooong.

You can't be serious 😂

No one in their right mind trusts Ran Carthon or trust fund baby Amy Adam's over Mike Vrabel. Pure insanity.
Vrabel was largely in control of the roster last year, I'm hearing Dillard was his call........ And that was a train wreck. He didn't want to give up power so the Titans made the decision to move on and let him sell what he wanted.

Coaches are often horrible at managing rosters...... What makes you think Vrabel is one of the few exceptions to that rule?

Harbaugh wasn’t interested was the report.

Edit: At least I think that was. I’d have to go looking for such.

Callahan doesn’t run the team’s roster. He’s a professional-level head coach, not a college-level head coach. Those responsibilities tend to fall to the General Manager.

They’re in a rebuilding phase where pretty much every position has some place or part on the grocery list length level of needs (even if it’s just quality backups). It’s most likely going to take more than just 1 offseason for all this.

Just curious, did you watch him in any games other than the final against Michigan?

Because our front office ans ownership is historically inept?
Harbaugh wasn't going to turn down 12 mil from UM for a complete rebuild in the NFL, especially where he has no control of the roster. The Chargers roster top to bottom is light years ahead of ours. Stud at QB, RB, WR, multiple studs at DL and DB. Id be shocked if Harbaugh doesn't have them in the playoffs next year.

Yes, he has a long delivery, he does have an arm but didn't seem great at hitting receivers in tight coverage. He's throwing to a lot of wide open guys or over the shoulder to streaking wr's.

That's just what noticed, then the struggle against Michigan.

I agree with this.
