The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

Common sense. Why would you think the Titans would not be interested in Harbaugh?

Because we literally just fired a coach due to an internal power struggle, and probably would’ve had the same exact problem with Harbaugh or Belichick.

The Titans owner wanted a clearly defined power structure in the organization.

I would give the Titans an A and the Falcons a B plus on their recent head coaching hires..........

Does the board agree or disagree with this take?

Harbaugh and Ben Johnson to me are the only home run hires for teams this year in terms of being a candidate for an opening.

While the blood was bad between Amy, Ran, and Vrabel, it is very hard for me to say we upgraded our staff. Especially when we hired a guy who was the OC in name only at Cincy with no real play calling duties.

We haven’t even hired a staff yet…

Sure would like to see Glennon get back inside the Titans org again like he did when he was with The Athletic with Rexrode. Had a really good relationship with him when posting. He would consider yours and offer his own opinions while answering questions. When he left The Athletic I followed him at Broadway Sports for awhile. See that he at the Nashville Post now.

Yes, Glennon is excellent and went to Post not long after David Boclair went to ESPN.com. Thankfully, his articles don't require subscription to Post. He was laid off from Athletic when they had a bunch of layoffs. I think it's been absorbed by a NewYork paper that laid off its athletic reporters.

Okay, we haven’t upgraded our head coach position…..
having an offensive minded coach is an upgrade right there

biggest problem is yet again we're hiring a coach that has never been a HC before. Unlike Vrabel who inherited a decent team from Malarkey, BC is getting a turd. He's got a big hill to climb

Most of the people that have HC experience are retreads we don't want. There wasn't an Andy Reid type coach out there.

Good to know, thanks.

Having previous head coaching experience is more important in college football (especially when being handed the keys to a major football program) than it is in the NFL.

If Callahan is going to help turn the Titans around, you will probably start seeing progress and improvement later in the season.
