The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

Was hoping this might happen. Macdonald going to the Seahawks as HC and now our guys are hiring Dennard as DC. This is good stuff and it weakens the Ravens at the same time.

So an upgrade to the coaching on both sides of the ball.

Oh yeah, since Vrabel was such a hot target I mustve missed where he got a new job, can someone fill me in?

Commanders job is the only one still open, and I haven’t heard if he’s going to interview or even being considered.

I think the craziest thing is that he’s still available despite Slowik and Johnson staying put, while guys like Canales and Morris got hired.

I was ready to move on from Vrabel, but I still expected him to get another shot this cycle.

I’m honestly floored. I thought for sure he’d stay in Baltimore with Macdonald leaving.

My bet would be Dan Quinn........or does Eric Bieniemy finally get his shot by default?

I'm not at all.

His style of preferred offense is going out of style, and he wants too much control over other things a HC shouldn't be overly involved in. Too many teams have gotten burned trying to do things the Patriot way.

I agree that his style is outdated and the level of control he was wanting is too much, but it’s still crazy to see after the way seemingly all media collectively blew him before and immediately after the firing.

I also just assumed he still had a relatively good reputation with front offices around the league.

I'm not surprised the media did what they did.
I dont think the reaction was as much him retiring as it was seen as another excuse to slam the Titans.

I know I should just stop watching undisputed, but when other teams hire white coaches and Eric B's name isn't mentioned and they're not called out as racists but the Titans are, it's ridiculous.

Yeah, that was a really odd thing to bring up, especially with the decision being made by a black GM.

The media in general got a really weird hate boner over the Vrabel firing. It had major “Titans should know their place” vibes.

It was bizarre how some people were so convinced he was a great coach and it was a mistake to fire him. The guy was an average coach and wanted more control over things than he had earned. I’m guessing his reputation in NFL coaching circles isn’t too hot compared to what some fans assumed it was.
