In his press conference, Munch said Hasselbeck's injury is more mild than they thought and has a chance to play Sunday. Said he'll start if healthy and is the team's starting QB.
Akeem Ayers is getting an MRI, but his injury is believed to be minor.
I'd say let's just shut down Hass for the next two or three weeks. Jake can beat the Colts and Jags and the Texans is a toss up game especially if they rest their starters. If we rest Hass for two weeks hopefully that will be enough to get him back to full strength if he is needed for Houston.
If we get into the playoffs I want Hass starting though.
On another note, I was wondering the other day if the Titans will get two 3rd round compensatory picks for Jason Babin and Stephen Tulloch. Babin is a Pro Bowler and Tulloch is having a great year in Detroit. Not too much of a stretch to think the team could have three 3rd round picks. Would be a pretty big deal, IMO.
In addition to the 32 picks in each round, there are a total of 32 picks awarded at the ends of Rounds 3 through 7. These picks, known as "compensatory picks," are awarded to teams that have lost more qualifying free agents than they gained the previous year in free agency. Teams that gain and lose the same number of players but lose higher-valued players than they gain also can be awarded a pick, but only in the seventh round, after the other compensatory picks. Compensatory picks cannot be traded, and the placement of the picks is determined by a proprietary formula based on the player's salary, playing time, and postseason honors with his new team, with salary being the primary factor. So, for example, a team that lost a linebacker who signed for $2.5 million per year in free agency might get a sixth-round compensatory pick, while a team that lost a wide receiver who signed for $5 million per year might receive a fourth-round pick.
If fewer than 32 such picks are awarded, the remaining picks are awarded in the order in which teams would pick in a hypothetical eighth round of the draft (These are known as "supplemental compensatory selections").
Compensatory picks are awarded each year at the NFL annual meeting which is held at the end of March; typically, about three or four weeks before the draft.
Either way, the idea of possibly having Locker, Johnson, and Britt on the field at the same time in the future is pretty damn exciting.
Dan Fouts is working the game on Sunday. It seems like the team loses every game when Fouts does color, or at least that's what I remember. If it's a bad omen, FML.
After looking at the schedules down the stretch, I see it coming down to the Ten/Houston game. This is how I see it finishing up, IF we win:
1. Baltimore
2. New England
3. Houston
4. Denver
5. Pittstain
6. Tennessee
That would mean we play Houston in back to back games.....
