Javon Ringer to IR. Herb Donaldson will be called up from practice squad. Barrett Ruud could be sent to IR. LB Kevin Malast being brought in from Jags practice squad. Was with team in preseason.

Titans 6.5 point favorites at Indy.

In his press conference, Munch said Hasselbeck's injury is more mild than they thought and has a chance to play Sunday. Said he'll start if healthy and is the team's starting QB.

Akeem Ayers is getting an MRI, but his injury is believed to be minor.

I'd say let's just shut down Hass for the next two or three weeks. Jake can beat the Colts and Jags and the Texans is a toss up game especially if they rest their starters. If we rest Hass for two weeks hopefully that will be enough to get him back to full strength if he is needed for Houston.

If we get into the playoffs I want Hass starting though.

I agree.
While Hasselback could play there could be a repeat of what happened to Washington yesterday.

Jake Locker is one tough man, can run, and again proven a amazing thrower. Had the LB had not gotten to Wahsington from Behind on the last drive he would gotten in for another TD.

We're not good enough to rest Hasselbeck and expect to win - maybe against the Colts.. but not the Jags.. their defense has been solid.

I don't think there's that much of a drop off. I agree I'd rather have Hass in, but I don't trust either one to definitely beat the Jags at this point. Every game worries me.

Dan Fouts is working the game on Sunday. It seems like the team loses every game when Fouts does color, or at least that's what I remember. If it's a bad omen, FML.

Barrett Ruud officially placed on IR. LB Kevin Malast signed in his place. Ruud has played his last snap in a Titans uniform.

On another note, I was wondering the other day if the Titans will get two 3rd round compensatory picks for Jason Babin and Stephen Tulloch. Babin is a Pro Bowler and Tulloch is having a great year in Detroit. Not too much of a stretch to think the team could have three 3rd round picks. Would be a pretty big deal, IMO.

What are their salaries? This is the #1 deciding factor.

I really doubt a 3rd.

Here, from Wikipedia:

In addition to the 32 picks in each round, there are a total of 32 picks awarded at the ends of Rounds 3 through 7. These picks, known as "compensatory picks," are awarded to teams that have lost more qualifying free agents than they gained the previous year in free agency. Teams that gain and lose the same number of players but lose higher-valued players than they gain also can be awarded a pick, but only in the seventh round, after the other compensatory picks. Compensatory picks cannot be traded, and the placement of the picks is determined by a proprietary formula based on the player's salary, playing time, and postseason honors with his new team, with salary being the primary factor. So, for example, a team that lost a linebacker who signed for $2.5 million per year in free agency might get a sixth-round compensatory pick, while a team that lost a wide receiver who signed for $5 million per year might receive a fourth-round pick.

If fewer than 32 such picks are awarded, the remaining picks are awarded in the order in which teams would pick in a hypothetical eighth round of the draft (These are known as "supplemental compensatory selections").

Compensatory picks are awarded each year at the NFL annual meeting which is held at the end of March; typically, about three or four weeks before the draft.

Wait and See how Hasselback is at Practice at Wednesday.

I want Locker to start. Both Locker and Chris Johnson could combine for running yards more than 230.

Locker definitely has the potential to make a difference by starting, but I don't blame Munchak for keeping 'Beck as the starter. However, we need to go to all lengths to win out. Locker may be the answer. Either way, the idea of possibly having Locker, Johnson, and Britt on the field at the same time in the future is pretty damn exciting.

Vince signed for 1 year, $4 million. Tully was 1 year, $3.25 million.

Are we sure performance plays no part?

To counter, we signed Ruud, Hasselbeck, and Babs. Maybe no compensatory picks at all.

Unfortunately, I don't know what Hasselbeck's salary is, but I bet it cancels it a lot out and we probably get no compensatory picks at all.

Unfortunately, I'm a little pessimistic that this will ever be the case. CJ is apparently a robot who never gets injured, but Britt may be our Kevin Smith, an outstanding playmaker that will never make it past the midway point of the season.

After looking at the schedules down the stretch, I see it coming down to the Ten/Houston game. This is how I see it finishing up, IF we win:

1. Baltimore
2. New England
3. Houston
4. Denver
5. Pittstain
6. Tennessee

That would mean we play Houston in back to back games.....

And he is seemingly anti-Titans for some reason. I mean, to the point where I will turn it off and listen to the radio. He brings somewhat good points sometimes, but damn does he take a biased approach.

Who do you have the texans losing to?

I could see us potentially getting in with a loss to the Texans as well.... It would be a long shot, but basically, Jets would have to lose 2 of their last 3, and Cincy would have to lose to Baltimore.

Wait.... with Houston being in the AFC, I'm not sure we would still control the tiebreaker if we had a 3 way tie with Oakland and NYJ
