Im from north Dakota I was a freshman at etsu during bp first year and saw ut play etsu. I b
Put money on etsu to win that game.....saw how bp and the VOLS played that game fast pace and exciting that I fell in love with ut at that moment and I was cheering on ut to win instead of Etsu and have never looked back. Yes I am a Bruce pearl fan and yes I am Tennessee basketball fan. However Tennessee will always be my number one team, and if bp ever coaches another team again they'll be my second favorite team

Not really.. lets step back because I am getting the sense that you think NCAA is some legal governing body that has all these powers. All the powers lie with the presidents of the universities and the head of each conference. For all purposes the presidents of each university could form a separate organization making NCAA non-existent..and that is why NCAA will never give the death penalty or put the smack down on any team..no way ever happens again.

Harris said he'd only stay if pearl stayed....since NCAA ruling came out after the NBA draft who know what would of happen....hopson although an idiot for thinking he was ready would of stayed and we sure could of used him now, if nothing else at least for senior leadership

I admit I actually looked into it thinking I could get in on the cheap but then saw it is still 35k for a box in basketball...worst investment ever.

DId I say the NCAA forced Bruce out? No.

But if you want the program destroyed, fine, keep Bruce.

I do know that before the Wade Houston hire, Tennessee was a pretty decent basketball school, which this guys says we didn't have.

Tennessee was pretty good with Mears and Devoe.. sucked rest of time with exception of Pearl and brief time with Jerry Green.

Sometimes our fans seriously undersell the UT program. I'd say UT is in the top half of SEC programs all time. Although that's more a slight on the SEC than anything.

geez..I didn't say keep Bruce but he was not even close to destroying the program..How the hell can the program be destroyed if no one other than the university presidents have the power to....like when ETSU dissolved its football program.

It wasn't possible to keep Pearl with a 3 year show cause. Tennessee should have hired an established coach with a good resume and payed him what ever it took. This program was the pit for the entire history of UT except for a short period when a promoter name Ray Mears made it relevent. Other than that short period only BP has given fans a program that was worth watching. That was worthy of support by fans. Other schools can hire top coaches and have great programs but TN really only cares about money so they are penny wise and pound foolish. They save a milllion in salaries and lose millions in revenue. How stupid is that.

Well the guy said 40 years and Bernie and Ernie were in the early 70s so that is 40 plus years if u wanted to make a decent arguement should of said Allen Houston

1971-2011 is fourty years.

Bruce was hired in 2005. 1965-2005.

He's still way wrong.

Ernie and Bernie were mid 70's, not early 70's. King was here in 74-77.
