Other schools can hire top coaches and have great programs but TN really only cares about money so they are penny wise and pound foolish. They save a milllion in salaries and lose millions in revenue. How stupid is that.

Ok, since you want to go there..lets say they got a 2 year ban on postseason, and exaggerate with 7 reductions with scholarships..Pearl shortened his bench every year and said himself you are ok with 7 or 8 players. How is this destroying the program, would have been back after 3 years and given our history of shi*** basketball who cares about 3 year.

Oh, you forgot a three year ban on recruiting from Pearl.

I'm done with this. Pearl isn't here. He had to be fired. End of story.

If you think Bruce Pearl staying wouldn't have destroyed the program in terms of being competitive for a long time. I don't know what to tell you.

I think his point was tennessee was for the most part not as irrelevant and promising before bp got there.....


To me it seems ppl like you don't care that bp did do a great job here at tenn, and I can't speak for everyone but for me it hurts when y'all bash the guy that made tenn basketball successful while he was here, even though he hurt it in many ways.but don't sit there say that he sux or didn't know how to recruit or coach.

Dense man..I never thought, said or even wanted to keep Pearl..you said he almost destroyed the program, which is not even close to possible given he was fired.

Easy to say when it supports his point of Martin being the answer to everything in UT basketball.

I have never said that about Bruce. Although I think you overrate him some as a coach/recruiter, but he did a great job here till June 14, 2010.

You really think so. How many NCAA tournaments did TN go to? How many NCAA games did they win in the 40 years from Mears to Pearl. I set through all of the miserable losers that UT hired for all of those 40 years. You simply don't have a clue.

I totally agree with you, I loved bp but he should of been let go.....that's not the point I was arguing to these ppl, I was just saying we should say thank u Bruce for all you've done for this program and move on.....

The part about I don't like aboutnthis whole process is we hired a guy a week after we fired Bruce....didn't even wait till the tourney was over before hired another guy that (correct me if I'm wrong) never made the tourny before. We could of done better

Don DeVoe did a decent job. Jerry Green made the tourney ever year.

Also, his 40 years comment from when Bruce was hired was idiotic considering Mears coached another 12 years.

Yep thats right you have to go back 40 years to find a time when basketball at UT was relevent. Just what Ive been saying. Glad you agree with me.:crazy:
