could roll is in 2. But, I can assure you we out bid and that’s why we are hosting
I think SM was highly motivated to put in a strong bid based on their baseball tradition, retiring beloved Coach, and to continue the momentum from last season’s Super. With that said, why did your Coach allow Tanner Hall to throw so many pitches in Regionals?

The Underdog is coming to Mississippi.

Per NCAA, we were the 10th best team in SEC. The only ones seeded lower either missed Hoover, or fired their coach.

WOOOOOOOOO!!

And this is what worries me. We have a very good team, but TN has more talent…. A more talented team with a chip on their shoulder as the underdog? That usually doesn’t work out well

Good luck to you as a fan, but if your program isn’t allowing public access to tickets then I have nothing good to say about them. I will group them along with the NCAA in this decision for hosting. It was an inside job and nobody else will convince me otherwise. You seem like a nice fan but your program and the NCAA look very bad right now. I’m sure the fanbase is great and I will be cordial with any of you and fellow Eagles fans but everything around this decision just feels wrong.
I knew this would turn out bad when I saw the intruders post lol

Fair question and I agree. Berry has a fantastic history of protecting his pitchers arms especially those that can play the next level like Hall. He threw 30 and was on a 40 count pitch max supposedly. Which would have been his bullpen work anyway.

I didn’t like it, but that’s the word from Hattiesburg

Accidentally posted below and wrong thread, but see below.

What up Vol nation? Peaceful Eagles fan here just to chat baseball. Quick run down of thoughts and glad to help with info for Hattiesburg.

1. We are a baseball town and have an incredible fan base. Pete Taylor Park is a great college baseball experience. For anyone going you will be treated phenomenally. The right field roost is a great spot. It’s been going for 30 plus years. We allow 30-40 cars to drive in and tailgate in the stadium…. They grill, drink, etc. Go chat with with those long time fans and you will be treated well. Also if in town and out to dinner or bars and wearing Vol gear you will be treated well. Probably get a free beer or meal…. We are very appreciative of fans making the trip.

2. Our fans will be obnoxious and talk a lot of **** to the players…. Which May back fire because that seems to motivate TN baseball. As mentioned above your fans will be treated well though.

3. As a USM fan I hate this draw. This feels like Ole Miss again last year.. I said last year I would rather the team go to Miami than host Ole Miss…. This weekend I said I think going to Clemson would be easier the TN at home or in Knoxville. Hope I’m wrong, but we shall see.

4. Tanner Hall our ace is as good as anyone in the country. Big league change up and pitches.. doesn’t over power, but just an amazing pitcher. Storm out the bullpen is a shut down guy. After that we have solid pitching, but none are just dominating guys.

I think TN fans making the trip will come away impressed and amazed at what “little” Southern Miss has going in baseball atmosphere.

Safe travels to anyone making the trip and all that good stuff
You guys may have outbid but you can't tell me politics wasn't a factor in the decision. I'm one who says it is what it is,but the plot of Tennessee being the villain and your coach is retiring factored in as well, you can say it didn't but it adds up

Do you recall what was the SRO price for the Sat game vs Ole Miss last year? They are now around $350 on StubHub and was curious if you think they will drop based on previous Supers.

Maybe and I get the optics, but the bid is the bid and if that’s what they cared about them we won the bid. I don’t think it’s a conspiracy…

You’re talking to a fan that’s school is the middle of SEC country and we have to overcome that constantly. Hell LSU and Bama are closer to USM than Ole Miss and MS. State. Our fans forever feel like SEC bias is against us.

I believe secondary market was 400-500 last year. Was a tough ticket. Weekend of regionals you could not find one unless you knew someone. TN being further away and not in state may mean some may shake loose or drop
Closer to game day.

I did hear from someone within the program today, their response was we should have won a few more games and it wouldn’t have been an issue…….with that said, they are ready to head south and make a statement

I have a hard time believing we were “outbid”
🤔
I’m sure some enterprising journalist will do a FOIA request and secure the bids. I‘d be shocked if we weren‘t outbid as the Auburn AD will be skewered after the UK debacle and now a potential scandal regarding bids. The Pete is a nicer facility than LNS—the renovations will quickly change that—-but remember there are 12 other SEC schools with much nicer baseball facilities than UT.

money wise for sure TN can outbid us, but with a close RPI, etc and being Berry’s last year as coach we overbid. We weren’t losing this super due to money. Is what it is.
That’s my line of thinking as well. SM was highly motivated to overbid to secure hosting for Berry. Plus, in what world did AD White think we’d be in any position to host a Super a few weeks ago.

Huh? What do you mean “public access to tickets.” So USM looks bad because they wanted to host and are?
LSU is offering tickets to the general public. There should be a requirement for public access to tickets. Even if it’s only 500. The public deserves the right to have access to these games before they are sold secondhand.

Also as a USM fan if we had to go to Knoxville I wouldn’t have cried “SEC”. The metrics are closer than some realize and I understand the process…. We simply would have been outbid and I would have been ok with that

Much bigger stadium. We released 100 to general public. So based on size it’s basically the same % of general public allotment

We need to giddy up on the facility ordeal. We’ve got a real AD now and we’re shining across the board.

There is a father of a USM baseball player on the committee and a former AD on the committee. Believe whatever you want to believe and I will believe whatever I want to believe. All signs point to an inside job and that makes your program and the NCAA look bad.

And is agree. I hate the secondary market and scalpers. I’ve given many tickets away to sporting events and music events to Fans instead of selling when I can’t go. Hate the secondary ticket market

How many? LSU seats over 10,300 so I assume they might have more than the 600 that The Pete or LNS provide for Supers. Friends and family of coaching staff and players families followed by season ticket holders will likely grab all 600 within minutes. Secondary market will likely be only opp for remainder. It’s the problem of only having less than 5K seats for a high demand game.

All good and I get the optics…. But you’re talking to a fan base that has always had to overcome SEC money…. We are the stepchild in MS…. Actually feels nice to have a large program like UT think we got favoritism. We are usually on the bad side
