Thanks Baseburg and welcome, I’m obviously a Tennessee fan but I’ve got some connections to USM baseball and have followed them a long time. Not a better man or coach in the country than Scott Berry. I hate we are matched up here……and I don’t think many Tennessee fans understand how awesome the baseball environment is, and more importantly how great the baseball fans are…….passionate about their team and love to have a good time ! You have something special with your baseball program there.

To add another layer, even if those 2 recused themselves and everyone was voting objectively, those are still 2 votes that could have made a difference that are left off the ballot. We will probably never know but at this point, it’s just beat everyone in our way and wear the fur coat and Daddy hat at the trophy ceremony and thank the NCAA for motivating us.

Appreciate the discussion and hospitality. I’m looking forward to my first trip to Baseburg and my offer still stands to host you in Knocksville. It should be a great environment on Sat—just wish it was a night game vs a 2pm CT scorcher. Lol.

Ratings for this series should be tremendous the hottest team in the country going into a hostile environment with a retiring head coach

Exactly. If one were to embrace “conspiracy theories” one could envision a scenario where a deal was made to give Auburn the Regional and if a scenario came up allowing USM to host the Super, they got it. All “recusals” aside.

I really don’t believe that but I am also not naive enough to believe USM simply ”outbid” UT. Some combination (or all of these) contributed IMO:

- Scott Berry retirement (chance to go to Omaha or at least, finish at home)
- Stacking the deck against the SEC. 1 team against the overall #1 seed, 4 teams playing one another and the remaining team goes on the road (would have a HUGE advantage playing at home). NCAA can’t have half or more of the CWS teams being from the SEC
- Anti-TN bias. Rules changes aimed specifically at UT, sending us to the #4 National seed when we are arguably the top #2 seed, the way Umps “watch us like hawks“ for any infraction (not to mention squeezing the strike zone and NEVER getting a check swing called as “didn’t go”)

More passive aggressive BS. Don’t give a shiz about your background. There was no metric that says SM deserves to host. Take your troll ass to your own board. Oh and don’t want to hear about your freaking friendly fan base either. Everyone thinks their fan base is the best.

Alex Box holds 12k not 5k. I’m sure LSU has a ton of season ticket holders but I highly doubt 12k are already committed as is the case with USM and their 5k season tix.
