My wife was watching the Clemson game with me and remarked “these guys look 30 or 40 years old, not like college kids”. Then Zane came to bat and she goes “except for him, he looks like he’s still in Middle School”…..LOL. Cmon. He could pass for 13! He seems like the most humble and polite kid ever! He’s the baby faced assassin as looks can be deceiving!
He looks even younger in person. As my wife says, he plays the game with such joy. He looks like he’s enjoying and savoring every moment. So glad he transferred here.My wife was watching the Clemson game with me and remarked “these guys look 30 or 40 years old, not like college kids”. Camden Sewell looks like he’s 40 with the beard and like he’s 18 without it. That guy is a competitor—love his fire and determination. My wife was watching the Clemson game with me and remarked “these guys look 30 or 40 years old, not like college kids”. If I was Danny White I would incorporate something like Colorado State did with Florida when they hired Jim McElwain. As part of his buyout they offered to play them.
In this scenario Danny White could say we will put you on our football schedule in one of next 2 to 3 years (we will find a date) you will play football here in Neyland Stadium and we will pay you double what we typically pay a school like Southern Mississippi to play here. In return you make those tickets for the baseball super regional accessible to our UT website. Guarantee they would change their tune. All athletic departments like the paydays to play at major football venues as helps fund the rest of the sports.

I always admire how calm he looks coming into those situations. Usually when he gets the call it is a high stress point in the game and he just looks completely unfazed. You can't coach that.IDK and he has become happy with his role, maybe not completely satisfied, but understands his role. I think because they know he can go all three days in a weekend and want him if they get in a bind. He is second now in all time appearances for a career and in a season and bumped himself and some guy named Helton from second to third. So he is second and third in season high appearances. Plus like 6/7 in career era. If he comes back next year and pitches the 30 innings he has had last 2 years he will blow the career appearances out of the water and I don't see anyone touching it. Plus he is second in SEC appearances this year and like 11th in NCAA with no one above him still playing. So that will be his legacy on the field which is not near as important as his legacy off the field. I don't say that to brag but to help understand how he/we deal with it. The appearance thing has made it easier for him to handle the short appearances. One of our guys said the other day that everyone wants to pitch as often as Kirby but no one wants to come into a game in the situations Kirby comes in or be in the bullpen as much as he is. He went 18 straight appearances with at least 2 guys on when he came in.
Not at all. Expected some push back. No one asked for praise, etc. Just an excited fan about the upcoming weekend trying to discuss.
