The Official Texas A&M @ #1 Tennessee National Championship Game 3 Thread (Mon. June 24 7PM EST) (ESPN)

It didn't work if that was CTV's intent. CMO walked, and on his way to first, he repeatedly trash talked the pitcher on his way. Easy to read his lips... CMO is on the edge, needs to stay in control and not get tossed. He's too important to this team.
You're right, he's on edge. But I disagree about whether it worked. The distraction of an illogical challenge kept CMo from doing something impetuous that would have kept him from getting on base. Sure he was still chirping and mad, but he made it on base where DD could knock him in. If he's out, DD never comes to bat in the 7th.

Imagine how excited you would have been if someone told you back in February that we'd be playing in the last game of the 2024 college baseball season.

It's been a great ride. We are the best team in the nation. Time to finish it out in style.

Time for the Vols to prove why they have that #1 ranking tonight. Cemo, Burk, Amick, Tears are all due at the plate. If it doesnt happen, ill be disappointed, but damn what a season and an accomplishment by these guys. I hope what ever happens tonight, that doesnt go unappreciated. What TV has done with this baseball program is remarkable. Go vols! Take the Aggies down!

going to be one hot day in Omaha but it still a glorious one for a Vol W for win #60, now go get that W. Bring that trophy to Knocksville.

I think A&M's plan is for Lamkin to give them 3-4 innings and hope the score is tied at that point. Then bring in Stewart and Aschebeck for about 3 innings each to close it out. If we can get to Lamkin early, that plan goes out the window.
They have an advantage with probably the best reliever left of the two teams - Aschenbeck.

His pitch count was 40 on Saturday. If we cannot hit him in a close game . . . It will be important to work some walks / foul him off a lot. Ideally . . . A 20 - 25 pitch inning will hurt his chances to stay in the game. We may have a few more arms than they have. But I think it comes down to which team gets a great start out of their starting pitcher . . . And which team can put up a crooked number in the the first 3-4 innings.

Listening to SXM this AM... I can't stand listening to Homer Fanboy Kanell. Giving TN fans crap about cheering for a walk... Going to have to find another channel on the drive in...

We need #1-#3 hitters to "show up" and "show out" tonight. I think I heard the stat of something like 4 for 26 in the first two games. Sure would take the pressure off if those three could put on a show.
Heck I want to more than 1-3 hitters show up/out, let the entire Vols squad wear that ball out tonight. I want to hear Rocky Top played all night long until ALL the Aggie fans ears are ringing. 👉💪 🍊⚾

Somebody referred to that as the gorilla bat era or something like that. What did they mean?
Here's a history....

I gotta admit I was hoping for a game 3. I hung up the cleats and transferred to UT to be with my best friend turned girlfriend. (Cannot print what my dad said about that decision.) We tied the knot 46 years ago today. Our years at UT in undergrad and grad school were some of the most fun years of our lives. Baseball and UT are in our blood. 3 wonderful kids and soon to be 9 grandkids and we get to celebrate with a natty on our anniversary. It has been a year to remember. Go Vols!

Can we talk about how terrible the home plate ump was?
Tennessee AND Texas A&M both deserved better, because that guy was horrible!!
@VolPack22 who do we see about getting those robo-umps in play?
can't say much about Scott Cline that hasn't already been said before, he's just terrible and not just behind the plate

Game day is here Vol Nation! The epic game 3 for all the marbles and the stakes could not be higher. National Championship on the line for both schools who have never won one in Baseball. Both managers will pull out all strategies and tactics to gain an advantage and momentum. Don’t be surprised if CMo gets buzzed under the chin to see how he reacts. He’s a ticking time bomb right now, hope Tony can keep him reeled in as we need him to show up big time. Hopefully, around 10 PM eastern we are celebrating our schools first national championship in Baseball! Nothing would be sweeter for Vol Nation and the players and coaches to end this monumental season in a dog pile in Omaha! Go Vols! Bring that title to Knoxville!
