The Official Washington Nationals Thread

Hoping Edwin Jackson can be in enough of a groove to make this a sweep.

I'm pulling for you guys, my good friend is a Marlins fan and there is nothing I would love more than for the Nats to finish ahead of them. I do think the division is there for the taking this year.

And please, get healthy Michael Morse and make HROD the closer already!!

Morse returning and Harper joining at some point will help. Storen being fine sometime mid-summer will be a welcome addition.

Kind of just want us to say **** it and give Hamilton some cash this offseason to play left.

Disclaimer: I only want that if I am guaranteed an elixir of health for hamilton until he's 37

Why not, rotation is looking pretty solid and I'm sure you have more young arms waiting in the wings. You already have young, power arms in the pen, infield is loaded with young position players, including catcher. An outfield of Harper with Morse and Hamilton at the corners would be scary. What a lineup that could turn out to be.

Forgot about Werth...Morse to 1B/OF in a platoon with Laroche? Always good to have options

I think LaRoche is a free agent at season's end. So I think it would be Morse to 1B and whoever else in left field. But, I have no idea who will, in fact, be in left field. Maybe Lombardozzi if we don't sign anyone.

Our pitching depth in the minors took a big, big hit to acquire Gio.

How long is Jackson signed for? I also like that kid Detwiler. At least with SS and Gio you are set at the top for a few years. Looks like Gio transitioned real well to the NL and will have success.

Jordan Zimmermann, as well. The forgotten man in the rotation.

Jackson is on a 1 year deal. So, I dunno if we will sign him to a multi year deal or what. He's a weird one, but I wouldn't totally hate him as the #4.

Detwiler is finally coming around a tad... former #6 overall pick because he was a polished college lefty.

Like that kid too. Damn, future doesn't look too shabby over in DC huh. A lot to be excited about now and for the future. Phillies and Bravos getting older by the minute, Mets are the Mets, and the Fish just seem like a big dysfunctional family hah

The Phillies getting older is the most exciting part. The Braves churn out pitching so much they'll be in the thick of it.

The Werth contract shouldn't have happened and will be ugly. But, we do have some good good things lined up, and Harper/Strasburg could be the best hitter and pitcher in the league at some point.

Maybe when Matt Kemp retires.. (had to)

Well done.

I don't think Kemp and Harper's primes will necessarily cross. And I obviously wouldn't BET on Harper being the best player in baseball at some point. Just, possible.

Zimmerman possibly headed for a DL stint. Might mean we play Lombardozzi at third, splitting time with Derosa.

Not sure how much longer we can pull stuff off with no offense. We can handle a little absence from him, but to contend all year, we need Morse, Zimmerman, and Storen healthy. We'll see what happens.

Good, clean outing from Zimmermann. Gorzellany comes in to close it out. 7-2 Win.
