The Pembroke Postgame Report-Kentucky

yea but our RPI wont get us in the tourney... I dont believe UK has any quality wins yet theyre in a better situation that us
then you haven't been paying attention. KY has to win the east to get into the tourney. They have nothing decent on their resume. Nothing.

I would think at this point we would need to win the east as well to get in or atleast make the semis in the sect

the win over Marquette has the potential to drastically lose its value with their next four games

We win the home games, we're fine. Save a couple, our losses are to tourney teams. KY can't make a similar claim.

The problem is that those couple have occurred recently and those are heavily looked at by the committee

UK isnt in that much of a better situation than us but they can make a claim that we cannot argue with

what's the claim? that they beat us twice. We're a middlin' bubble style underachieving team. How does that help them. Marquette, on the other hand, is a very competitive team with arguably the best backcourt in the country.

With this field, if we tread water and go 2-2 we're in because of two wins over the Big East.

In the other scenario, we have more wins but are still looking for help in the SEC Tourney- not a prospect I'd look forward to.

So you're saying the win over Marquette is better than Kentucky beating us twice?

Two wins over Kentucky and a loss to Marquette would definitely have us in a better position
no it wouldn't. Then we would have no wins over any decent teams. Marquette is a quality tourney team because of guard play. KY is potentially going to miss the tourney altogether.

Yep, and he is getting away from the original argument in an attempt to stack it in his favor.

the original argument was that the win against Marquette is not our saving grace because we have too many bad losses and im arguing the fact that I would rather have lost to Marquette and be in 1st place in the east especially considering how bad the sec is this year

A loss to Kentucky hurts our chances more than a win against Marquette helps our chances especially considering the timing of both.. does that make sense?

here's the problem with the argument. Lipstick on a pig just doesn't get the job done (at least where I live).
