Personally, I thought the refs did fine. They missed a few calls, but who doesn't? Overall, I'm a lot more in favor of refs just letting them play and that's what they did tonight. It favors the aggressor and that was us.

Disagree, wholeheartedly. The foul on Pearl was, especially, BS. At the end, they just fouled us more, and it was appropriately called. We won despite the officiating.

Because he's not very good.

Agreed. It all depends on matchups for Melvin. When he's guarding a white boy and driving on a white boy, he looks great. When he is matched up with smaller, faster PGs he looks atrocious.

The head fake by Goins upped his status with me by 10%...which makes my opinion of him about 40% positive.

Hate Memorial Gym, so I love 2.

Cam Tatum continues to be MIA for about a month now. Scotty's forced his way into SEC POY discussion, although he's still quite a ways off from the top. Just hope this may be a late turning point that gets us going again and sends us to wins over MSU, SC, and Kentucky.

So hat, is this going to be yet another year where Vandy falls in the first round to another mid-major?
If Vandy draws someone with an athletic point guard, they are in big trouble.

When Cam drove the lane, stepped back, and hit a fadeaway I was wondering 'why can't he do that at will - every game?'

If Tatum could find his way out of his hole, and if Williams can play to his stature, and Goins can run the point with some degree of capability, this team might be one to reckon with come tourney time. A late-season streak would be huge.

That is a lot of IF's :)

I think that foul called on Pearl actually helped our cause in the end because the refs pulled their heads out of their ass and called a very good game after that horrendous call.

Not true. Some of his best games have been against superior talented PGs.

Did you see his late game-changing play? Didn't look like a slow "white boy" to me!

I doubt Vanderbilt will be matching up with a mid-major in the first round this year.

Yeah, the media is just going to give UT a pass tomorrow. I'm sure they'll be showing UT-Vandy highlights instead of talking about the violations. It'll be a big love fest.

Got to agree with this.

It's nothing surprising, but it's still huge news and will be tomorrows focus. Unless steps down as head coach for his dream job at uga.

The mental picture of pissed off, gold sweater wearing pricks searching for their cars on West End brings a smile to my face.

I disagree.. The calls very very inconsistent tonight and it seemed to favor vandy.. Pearl steal, bw back and forth with ezell.. Several others.. There were also several plays where ezell just manhandled maymon and hall with no call, then both get called in the other end for nothing significant...
