What's important is that when they received the letter, the school was surprised by nothing. Everything that was expected (maybe even less) was in the letter.

The press and message boards (like this one) might be surprised by a couple of things they hear and try to run with it screaming atop their lungs (which will happen). However, those who make decisions knew everything that was coming.
