Not that big of a fan of Rocky so i never really cared to look very far into the whole A$AP thing...

but damn, Fergy can spit. That kid has potential.

He's got some better verses on that mixtape, but i didn't wanna post them because you'd have to wade through all the other A$AP mediocrity to get to it (Twelvyy's pretty good, Nast and Ant are garbage).

I thought he went in on the 2nd verse though. At least for a Trap beat. I'm a sucker for Trap instrumentals but usually the guys rapping over them are awful.

The 2nd verse was definitely an improvement. I just feel like, and this is solely based on that song, he will need to do something much more unique to stand out and be successful. It's very similar to a number of good rappers out there. If he improved lyrically, he might have something. Jmo

That's fair. It's definitely nothing groundbreaking, just fun to bump it in the car. Trap instrumentals make my subs knock like hell, but I can't take Gucci and Future mumbling into the mic like they do.

I had to get something new into the CD player. Was getting a little dusty, I've been listening to Season of tha Siccness from Brotha Lynch Hung for the last 2 weeks.

Did you listen to Ferg's album?

I don't think he's a great lyricist or anything, but that album was actually surprisingly good.

[Don't listen to these unless you have some sort of bass, people who have never listened to these songs] [hatelaptopspeakers]

A$AP Ferg - Let It Go - YouTube

A$AP Ferg - Shabba (Explicit) ft. A$AP ROCKY - YouTube

Work REMIX (Explicit) - YouTube

A$AP FERG "TRAP LORD" RELEASE PARTY "DUMP DUMP" x "SHABBA RANKS" LIVE - YouTube

Not lyrically, but their whole movement reminds me of Ruff Ryders meets Bone Thugs meets The Diplomats meets Wu-Tang with southern influence from Texas/Tennessee and Atlanta crunk tones

Never heard Let it Go but I bump the other 3 on a pretty consistent basis now, I like all of them tho.

So, uh. Kendrick Lamar at the Grammys.

I'm voting for Collision Course 2 with him and Imagine Dragons. I'm down for that.

Grammys are all about politics. Macklemore mad a song about supporting Gay Rights so he's automaticly gonna win. The best artists hardly ever win.

Kendrick West? I hope he doesn't lose his mind like Kanye because that was a damn good emulation of Kanye around 2006 or 2007.

Maybe you are talking the way they rap but a couple things.

1) Kanye has never made a song like that. Ever. And I defend pre 2011 Kanye.

2) That song was made in the summer of 2011. Section 80 is still my favorite rap album.

3) I wish Black Hippy pushed the HiiiPoWeR movement like they use to. My first tat is a HiiPoWeR tattoo on my left arm.

Macklemore also had much better hits in terms of popularity with Thrift Shop and Can't Hold Us. Kendrick didn't have that big song that really made him pop, which is a shame.

GKMC was so good that the best song Kendrick did for that album was left off and it still felt like a perfect album.

While Kendrick is great, I still think Ab-Soul=best rapper in the game.

It wasn't even the best album in 2013, Eminem's was better and maybe even one or two more.

GKMC came out in 2012.

Eminem had a solid album and has my hip hop song of the year but that was not a great album. There were way too many songs that sounded the same.
