The Rap/Hip-Hop thread

it was really hard to keep Kanye off my list. Been a huge fan of his when it comes to producing. 9th Wonder is legit too.

I think he's established himself to be as good as it gets. I think "Late Registration" and "MBDTF" are among the best produced hip-hop record ever.

Hard to pick just four. Kayne is superb. Really changed music with his production style. Him + JB had em tryna make the BluePrint II before Hov...

Another 4 would be

Kayne
Pimp C
Ant Banks
DJ Paul

These four are rapper slash producers.

Which leads me back to Marshall.

He may be THE producer/rapper of all time.

Hard to narrow it down...

*Honorable Mention*

DJ Screw

The ENTIRE industry is still biting his style HARD.
And he is hardly even mentioned. Travesty if you ask me.

I'm sure he's been mentioned already and I just haven't seen it, but Hopsin is one of my favorite rappers at this point. His Ill Mind videos and complete lack of caring about mainstream is really nice to see. Ill mind 7 is one of the deeper and meaningful rap songs I've heard in a while.

As far as producers/DJs go? I have to go with Kanye, Pimp C, DJ Green lantern, and Dre, personally.

I think Em and Kanye are the two best rapper/producers with Em being the better rapper, and Kanye being the better producer. But damn, Kanye had that run of Late registration, college dropout, and Graduation. Not sure there are many better produced first 3 albums out there.
