The Runner's thread

Thread almost fell off the first page... can't let that happen.

3.2 on Wednesday and 3 mile trail run last night. Been a while since I have done a trail run. I had forgotten how much I enjoy trail running.

2.7 Wednesday, beer run last night. I should start training for my 50 miler... I was approved for time off for a 9 hour run in two weeks.

Yesterday was National Running Day... did anyone else partake in the event? I got two miles with lots of hills in yesterday

I spent National Running with first day of Physical Therapy. 5 "simple" stretches had me in pain that I haven't felt in weeks and realizing (and being told so) that I'm still quite a ways from being able to run.

Know what you are going to get?

Not certain yet. Needs to be under $100 and on the durable side. Last time I got some really nice and light shoes, but once they got worn out I started to get stress fracture. Meanwhile my heavier more basic runners still work comfortably even well worn.

That said, I need to be less of a cheapskate when it comes to keeping fresh shoes on me, but such is life.

A lot of times you can go to a running store and get the previous version of a shoe for pretty cheap. Also I have noticed that Academy Sports sells Brooks and Asics running shoes. Might be able to find some you like there for your price range.

3 miles last night. I waited till 7:40 to run and still was just soaked. It wasn't so much the heat as it was the humidity. It was also a road run instead of a trail run that I have been hitting up the last few times I have ran. I think I am going to stick to trail runs for a little while.

If you know you like the shoe and know your size, runningwarehouse.com is a great source for previous models. Might even find a coupon at retailmenot.com
