The Runner's thread

Oh, hey... Running 9 hour endurance run tomorrow morning. ~1 mile loops may get boring, but it's pretty flat compared to the 8.5 hour 50k I ran...
 
I ran the world's shortest ultra marathon today... Muddy as hell, humid. Lots of stairs and hills and mud. 26.35 miles. 3rd place. 8h40min. 31 laps at .85mi each. It was fun. The winner ran 34 miles, 2nd place ran 31.x miles. My hip hurt so bad the last 4 laps I had to walk 3 and then was able to trot the last one.

I checked out the running warehouse. It looks like if you stay on top of the web site you can find some pretty good deals.
 
3.3 trail run with my wife yesterday. We went to Stringer's Ridge which is a fairly new place they have opened here. The trails are nice but they are pretty much constant up and down with hills. It was rough but well worth it.

I put on ~50 pounds in the course of a year because of an antidepressant I was on. I've been running hard the past like 5 weeks and have just gotten the past couple weeks where I'm running ~4.5 miles every other day. The fact this kicks my ass when my short runs used to be 7-8 miles long sucks hard, but I'm slowly getting it back.
 
3 miles last night. I waited till about eight before I started running and it was still pretty miserable during the run. I am just going to keep chugging through though because I know it will pay off in the long run.

I starated a 4 mile run last night at 8 and a mile in it started pouring rain, but I was determined to finish. Then when I had a mile left it started lightning as well... Suffice to say that I sprinted the last mile in.
 
Legs are still sore from running Saturday. I foam roll every morning and night. These are new places that haven't been sore before. Then again, I've never run so long on such tough trails and in those conditions.

I don't really like running in a down pour because I hate for my feet to be soaking wet.
 
3.0 last night along the river and still pretty dang warm at 7:15 last night.

Side note: My five year old rode his bike the whole three miles without stopping. I was pretty proud of that.
 
Another 3 last night. I really need to get my butt up and run before work. I think it would be much better but 5 o'clock comes early.

That's been there for a couple of years. My apartment complex is right behind the Double J trail. I've been hiking and then running there since April of last year and I'm down 85 pounds

Yeah it's been there for a while but its fairly new compared to other places in the area.

Congrats on the weight loss.
 
Tried to run last night but my hip started acting up after 1 mile. Staying off of it until the 50 miler. Will continue to ride my bike to maintain fitness.
