awesome. I just ordered these.

A bunch of my friends do crossfit and they all wear calf sleeves and swear by them, so figured I might as well try it while I got the coupon lol

I started out wearing them just as a recovery type thing like after runs but I tried them out on some longer runs and felt like my legs seemed to feel better afterwards.

Crossfitters swear by them? Probably a good reason to avoid them.

However, I read a study recently that said wearing them during the run only showed effects consistent with a placebo, but they did show measurable improvement for recovery after.

I've used them, both calf and sock type, since I have a long history of tendonitis and shin splints. Not to mention various foot issues resulting from ligament/bone damage. They work imo. I take care of myself in other ways too, but I know plenty of runners that love them. Plus if they make you feel better at the very least it can't hurt.

Trail 10k-ish run this morning. 1:25:XX. Muddy-ish. Hot and muggy. I was hungover. The course was approximately 7 miles instead of 6.2. Last year was 6.4. I had a 1:17 last year, but the winner was 15 minutes slower this year than last (same person), so I consider that a great improvement on my time. I ran the first 2 miles with the front group, that did me in.

I don't just feel like the compression calf sleeves help me on long runs, I know they do. And they have been my saving grace since tearing my calf muscle. Wish I would've been wearing one when I did it.

Still not up to snuff for running. :cray::cray I can bike ride though. 25 miles through the trails today.

Update: calf still partially torn but I begin physical therapy next week. Running can hopefully resume in about a month. No idea how I'll last that long

Ran a mile 4x in the past 8 days.

The third time I timed it and ran 7:40 then yesterday timed it and got 7:12.

Baby steps, guys, baby steps. :)

Yeah, I have almost no problem biking. It's just when I put serious weight on the leg from force or especially when I have to put any kind of torgue in the leg.

Well at least you are able to do something. It could be worse and you would have to be stuck doing nothing at all.

Those are really quick miles. Congrats. Just make sure you are spacing things out so you don't hurt yourself.

:good!:

Thanks, orange.

Today I just played some basketball with some friends.

I'll probably try to get in 1.25 tomorrow. :hi:

20 more bike miles. I passed so many runners today. Motivation to heal properly so I can get back out there. Y'all motivate me too, keep at it!

I know it's the running thread. But. I said I would get back to running. Slow steps of losing weight first. I went on a good 2 1/2 mile walk. Hopefully by end of summer I can list my mileage and time.
