The Runner's thread

I'll get right on that seeing as how I'm in Alaska.

Im aware you would need to travel since you don't live there. But you can still find challenges of terrain in the great outdoors of Alaska.

Also Huskies can run very fast. You can challenge yourself in Alaska by running with a Husky.

3.2 last night in my neighborhood which has some pretty good hills. My six year old ran the first mile and half with me at a 10:15 pace. I was pretty proud of him running the whole way without stopping.

That's awesome. My 3 1/2 year old wants to run with me all the time

My BIL ran a 100-miler yesterday, was in first place until mile 99. Finished 2nd and when he tried to eat his kidneys quit on him and he collapsed. He got rushed to the hospital. Looks like he'll be OK, but WTF. Would have been the 2nd young, healthy runner i know to go. Be careful fellas.

I'm getting up there in age. What's a BIL?

Hope he's ok either way. Keep us posted Huff

Edit: I'm going to guess Brother in Law?

There was a guy who died at the Savannah Rock N Roll marathon when I ran. I think he was like 32ish.

a girl around 16 years old died at the Shamrock Marathon a couple years back. Sad either way, but she did have a pre-existing heart condition.

I think someone died during the Marine Corps in '06

Yeah brother in law. The guy i know who died was doing a regular 3 mile jog. His was a freak case and not the result of pushing himself too hard.

Scary. I have many friends who race ultras and one of them had to quit a 100 in Wyoming because he couldn't urinate.

Dabg, hope and pray he's ok.

I found some great trails along the lake in Lenoir City/Greenback. You local folks should check them out if you prefer dirt and beautiful views to pavement and city. Ran with my pooch there yesterday, about 5 miles.

Visit Loudon County TN - East Lakeshore Trail
