The Runner's thread

3 miles last night with some good hills. I need to start doing some hill training on other days besides Monday.

179 for the year and 46 for the month.

I'll be in Chattanooga April 8 & 9. Anyone have recommendations for trails to run or possibly meet up for a run?

Stringer's Ridge has some good trails. Mostly single track and you have to watch because they are one way trails too. But they have some difficult trails.

There is a Nature Park out by the Volkswagen plant that also has plenty of trails. The Nature Park is quiet and you can find wild life out there if you go at the right times.

Chattanooga has a Run Chattanooga Facebook page. You may be able to post on there to find out if there are any group runs.

Visiting for work or vacation?

Thanks!

My mom's going down for vacation and invited me along. I'm also going to use it as a time to visit UTC.

If you are going to be visiting UTC then Stringer's Ridge will be the closest to you. Its in the downtown area. Also if you can't make it out to the trails the River Walk goes through the downtown area and along the river up to the dam. That's a great place to run.

I'm not specifically going to visit UTC, just swing by campus and check it out. Nothing official. I'm looking for mountain trails to run.

If you want mountain trails to run then look at Craven's House. There are a bunch of trails that branch off from Craven's house that take you all over Lookout Mountain.

Awesome. I plan to ride up Lookout Mtn on my bike and was hoping there were trails to run on, also.

I've gone up to 8.0 for speed on the treadmill. Its a challenge.
Also damn on Friday I didn't drink much water before running on the treadmill. My average heartrate was 197, and maximum heartrate 203.
That is the highest I've achieved for average heartrate when running on a treadmill. No doubt achieved since I was running 8.0, and my body was working harder since I didn't drink much water before running.
