The Runner's thread

Just watched a guy finish a 5k in a shade over 18 minutes. Pushing a stroller with a two year old. Dude ran 5:58 per mile.

I use the balega blister resist socks. Love them.

Swiftwicks are made in TN. Might actually be a determent for you though

Anyone ever have their heel be sore? My right heel is very sore. Almost like a bruise. If I rest it almost becomes more sore.

That sounds painful.

Never had that, but I do have the dreaded black toe after last weekend. Pretty sure I'm only going to have nine toenails soon

It's not comfortable at all. But the more I walk on it the less sore it gets.

I'm not about to play WebMD on here and perhaps kiddiedoc can really help here, but the fact that the pain goes away as you stretch it and run on it, is a natural symptom of a very dirty two word foot problem.

I hope that's not the case. I coach soccer and it started after a practice. I'm hoping that it was something I did during practice.

I ran 6 Saturday. Pain was gone about a mile in and didn't really feel anything through out the rest of the run. Soreness came back about an hour after I was finished.

FYI, AT&T is selling the charge HR at 50% off in their stores. I picked one up for $78.06 altogether. Small and lightweight so I can wear it daily and still use my TomTom MultiSport for my runs, bike rides and (coming this summer) swim sessions.

You going to start training for a tri?

It is a very long range goal. I have certain PR times in a half and full marathon this fall I want to hit before I really get into going to do a tri, but I'd definitely need to improve my form for swimming and it's just a great all around workout.

I also need to buy a decent enough bike to carry me through a tri.

I admire people who to tri's. I just don't have a desire to do one right now. I think its mainly because of the swimming. I know swimming is an excellent workout but it just doesn't spark my interest right now.
