Although the OP could have worded it better - he may be right.

Beating Tennessee and Auburn (the measuring stick for any Alabama coach) will not be an easy task over the next few years as both program's are building something special.

Auburn is one year ahead, but by October 2015 both Auburn and Tennessee will be playoff caliber teams that Alabama must beat not only for the playoffs but to keep the fans happy.

It won't be easy.

Saban's defense had become antiquated in modern college football. He gave up 30 points three times last year against a middle of the pack schedule.
Gus Malzahn showed the world how to match up against saban's bigger, slower defense. The linebacker and running back positions are becoming less and less important. who cares if saban has ten rbs stacked like cord wood. Having an elusive qb able to get the ball in space to the Josh Malones and Marquez norths of the world is where it's at. You better have the ability to play with five and six dbs. Saban didn't even have two good corners last season and it showed. It limited his ability to substitute, in spite of Bama's lofty recruiting ratings.
Bear was slow to recognize the wishbone had gone the way of the do to bird. Saban's stubbornness, lack of foresight, and lapse in judgment in hiring the biggest clown show in college football will be his demise.

thats a bold statement my friend.

In the history of college football, every program has fallen after a precipitous rise. Saban's career has been mind numbing. He has unquestionably had more 5 stars pan out than any other coach in the history of college football. He has never had a first team qb lost for the season due to injuries. He also has the sec office next door in Birmingham where the entire organization is staffed with Bama homers! Can you imagine if the sec offices were in maryville? We would never hear the end of it, but the sec membership is oblivious to this advantage!!!!! In addition, that worm mike slive loves Bama. But it will all come crashing down this year!!!!!!!!!

No doubt, yes, Tennessee and Auburn will become much harder games than they have been in previous years (Minus '10 for Auburn), but if you think Alabama is getting rid of Saban, or that Saban is just gonna fade into mediocrity, you're crazy.

Saban will retire at Bama, and I'd be willing to bet he wins at least one more NC before he does it.

Wouldn't be surprised at all to see Bama win the NC this year, just so Saban can prove a point. Dude doesn't lose 2 in a row, and then not come back with a vengeance.

They still own the SEC West. Auburn is better, but auburn's success last year was part of the biggest fluke I've ever seen. No way they win most of the games they win if they weren't the luckiest team in the history of college sports.

Auburn's best player last year was Mason, and he's gone this year. Marshall was a surprise for most, and I think with Mason gone, more pressure will be focused on Marshall.

I just don't see how anyone thinks Saban is on the decline. Dude is still tough as nails, recruiting #1 classes without hardly any effort, and is still owning everyone he plays for the most part. Fluke loss against Auburn last year. I don't care what you say, that play will NEVER happen again in the history of football, pro or college.

And I know people say that his talk about his players not being motivated in the Sugar Bowl was an excuse. And maybe it was. But, if I'm a Bama player, and I lose the shot at the National Championship to my biggest in-state rival on a play that had to have some voodoo magic behind it, and i'm settling for playing the sugar bowl that means nothing championship wise...yeah, I could see how you'd be unmotivated.

Saban will retire at Bama. And will win until he doesn't want to anymore.

My hope is that the National Championship game is played on the 3rd Saturday in October every year, not in January.

Ok.....I'm the voice in the wilderness, I get it. But I will be proven right. Serious lapse in judgement in hiring kiffen. As al Davis so eloquently stated, he would destroy Tennessee's program. Al Davis was right. He would say the same thing about saban and Bama. He would not let kiffen within a million miles of his football team.:hi:

I hope you are right... but I seriously doubt it.

Saban is a defensive innovator. Will he drop the 3-4? Doubt it. Will he adapt and adjust if he sees his level of success slipping... almost without a doubt.

I may get attacked by saying this but;

I think Kiffin will help Saban with his offense. I believe Saban felt he needed a change of direction with his offense and as bad as I hate to admit it.. Kiffin may be able to help with that. I dislike Kiffin as much as most of here do But..... I believe he can coach, his problem is that Pie Hole.

As far as the first post here, Malzahn being able to break down Saban..... I live in the Birmingham area now and I must listen to the Alabama-Auburn talk most of the time. I am confused when I listen to the Finebaum show on the radio and hear that Alabama is on its way "Out" and Auburn has risen to the top. If I recall correctly Alabama lost two games last year.. but so did Auburn. Auburn was a moment away from being a team with 4 losses.. the Georgia game was a game pulled out of their ass and the Alabama game was near the same. Auburn will be tested this year.. if Malzahn does well this year then I will agree with what is being said here.

I hope they both lose 7 games this year... WOOHOO

Go Vols!

Jimmys and Joes, not Xs and Os!.. Right now Saban has more Jimmys and Joes than anyone, by far. If I am going to bet, I wouldn't bet against him, pull against him yes!

If Jesus Christ himself lost to both Auburn and Tennessee say 3 or 4 in a row (entirely possible over the next few years) - he'd be on the hotseat.

Alabama has 3 opponents every year. Auburn, Tennessee, everyone else. In that order.

Tennessee in a weird way has contributed to Saban's mystique by being so bad. He won't have that luxury anymore.

By 2016, all three teams will be fighting for the big one.

Okay...so you just said the following:

1) Mind numbing career
2) More 5* players pan out than any other coach
3) Never lost a starting QB to injuries for the season...

Not to mention:

2007- #10 class nationally (this is the year he came back)
2008 - #1
2009 - #1
2010 - #5
2011 - #1
2012 - #1
2013 - #1
2014 - #1
2015 - #1 currently
2016 - Already has a 5* and 2 4*'s committed...

Since 2007, he has lost 15 games, and 6 of them came in that first year...

3 BCS Championships...

And you think for some reason this year, he's all of a sudden going to tank?

You quote not having DB's to keep up, but yet he signed 2 5* DBs and a 4* last year?

I mean, I hate Bama as much as the next guy....

But you're crazy if you think that he is on the decline.

Nick Saban will stop being a factor when he retires. Or Dies. Whichever comes first.

Saban won with offense last season. His biggest problem was on defense. They were a step slower than years past. His corners were average at best. I bet we have better cbs than Bama this year! Moseley is going to be the real deal in spite of his two star rating. The guy can flllllllllly!
Saban needs a defensive consultant.....

Okay, granted, Kiffin is the worst Head Coach possibly ever. And yes, he ruined the Raiders, he ruined us, and he made USC suck as well. Terrible head coach.

But I will give the guy credit where he deserves it, and that is, he's a great OC. If he can just learn his role, and get some humility working under Saban, then Bama didn't screw up at all in hiring him. If he can keep his nose clean, he's a great recruiter, but he is truly a great OC, and I'll give that to him.

Bama may honestly have the best HC/OC/DC trio in the country.

Goodness, that tasted like vinegar coming out of my mouth.

LSU is a bigger priority right now.

Tennessee week might as well be a bye week at this point in time
