Did you just wake up and start watching TN basketball this year?

Stokes was definitely coming under Pearl before all the NCAA crap. His brother and best friend are at UT.

Nobody knows what will happen so it really is not worth everybody getting too worked up about. I really dont think stokes would have came here with pearl being in the trouble he was going to be in, and also the program. hopson was most likely getting out of here no matter who the coach was or what happened, this year was his best chance to be drafted which didnt even matter. as said woolridge was seriously considering giving up basketball all together, you forget that his family has money and he wants to pursure being a record label owner. mcrae would have been gone i dont care what anybody says he did not want to be here with pearl any longer.

so...with that said the rotation that i showed you is what we really know. yes pearl would have got some juco's in here but as also stated he wasnt in on anybody good and couldnt go out recruiting so it really wasnt going to be anybody that good.

if you think pearl would have had this team in the tourney then you must also be in the group that thinks once his show cause is over that he should be re hired.

Scotty and Tobias both said that they were returning this year if Pearl was here. I seriously doubt that Tobias would have but Scotty would, at least that's what he said.

Again, why would Woolridge transfer has senior year? He would have to sit somewhere else for a year...not happening.

Joe Jackson said he was transferring 1 week before he schooled us. Look where he's still at. Saying and doing...two different things.

Uh, no. Tobias wasn't turning down first round money.

Woolridge was on the end of the bench and got zero playing time?

Also, again McRae was considering transferring.

That's kind of a big thing.

All my points are that under the same team and recruits coming in and Scotty returning and better recruits during Spring signing class, Pearl would have done a better job with this years class.

Let me ask you a question. Has CCM done a better job with this team than any other coach in the country could have done? Do you think with the same team that there might be another coach that could have won against Oakland, Austin Peay, CofC? I'm not a CCM hater at all. I'm actually glad he is here, but I do appreciate the years we had under Pearl and it gets really old to see you hating under just about every thread.

please provide a link that scotty and tobias both said that they would have stayed? that is the biggest lie ever, neither one of them ever stated if coach pearl was still here i also would be. thats an absolute lie.

Johnny- Are you forgetting that Bruce brought ALL OF THIS ON HIMSELF. He was under a ban that wouldn't permit him from recruiting for a year, so that dismisses your idea of him going out and getting a guy in the spring.

So with that being said, if Hopson would have stayed (like you said he would) then this team would be in worse shape because:

1. Maymon would not have gotten this much better under Pear (look at his track record of developing players (Hopson ex)
2. Golden would not have improved. See above post.
3. McBee wouldn't be hitting the 3's like he is this year, because see above posts.
4. McRae would still be in the dog house with Pearl.
5. Woolridge wouldn't be playing at the level he is now. Once again look at above posts of Pearl developing guys.
6. So that means we would have a lineup of: Golden (who would not have improved) Maymon (who would not have improved) (Woolridge who would not have improved) McRae (who may or may not have played under Pearl) and McBee as potential starters under pearl.

that is not what we were debating you are misinterpretting this. what we said is that if coach pearl was never fired if he had what he would have had this year how would they fair. not if coach pearl had this team that ccm has built. and no i dont think that no other coaches could do what ccm has done, there are a handful that probably could do alot better than what he has done but that wasnt what we were talking about. we are saying if pearl was never fired and things just carried over we would be in worse shape right now than we are.

lol. No. I reckon I've been watching it for some time now. And yeah. I know Tennessee was an early lead for Stokes when Pearl started recruiting him. I say we never would of got him if Bruce Pearl stayed coach. Just like we'd probably of missed on Tobias if the NCAA stuff came out before he comitted. Kids like that do look at character. I hope you don't believe Stokes picked UT just because of his brother. There were tons of other schools with immediate playing time and schollys. I bet out of all the schools recruiting him, Martin has shown less than any other coach. He had to of sold him on something. Just my .2 cents

Except that is all subjective and would not have happened. Who were we recruiting at that time considering Tennessee? How was Bruce going to recruit with a recruiting ban on him at the time? How was Bruce going to convince Scotty and Tobias to stay when they their best opportunities to get drafted high? You haven't answered these questions. Also, Woolridge and McRae might have transferred.

I don't know. I think CCM is doing the best he can, and has a really tough job trying to play a completely different style than Bruce. Every loss was reasonable and understandable except for Austin Peay. He just beat a top 15 team Bruce couldn't last year.

And sorry, I appreciate what Bruce did basketball wise. But I'm glad he's gone, he embarrassed the university, lied to everyone, brought shame to the program, and almost got us in deep **** with the NCAA that could have set this program back 10 years. Also, Bruce wasn't as great as everyone makes him out to be. Take away the 36 hour #1 ranking, and JP Prince's block on Evan Turner, and he's a more glorified version of Jerry Green.

“With Coach (Bruce) Pearl gone, that played a lot into my decision,’’ Hopson said, referring to Pearl’s firing on March 21.

Took me 2 minutes to find a quote. Again...Google is your friend.

Wait, does that say Scotty would have stayed, if Bruce had stayed?

Don't think so

Wow, you are absolutely right. I wonder how in the world CBP ever won a game at all. Much less 20+ for about 20 straight years.
