The Section 103 Postgame Report.

I have not been to a game in Knoxville this year. But over the last two decades of seeing the Vols in Knoxville and on the road I wouldn't say our basketball fans have any more ignorant people that most college programs.

Fans at any game, be it any major sport, will on occasion act irrationally in the heat of the moment. Booing the refs for a perfectly legitimate call for example. That's one of the interesting things about sports and fandom.

True.

But I have been on many campuses and I hate to say that we have some of the biggest bandwagon and moronic fans I have associated with.

But I agree it goes on everywhere.

1) But didn't he have a medical issue that could have been the reason he never showed more improvement? Also, the pot culture was here before CBP, and he's fighting it more than any other UT coach.

2) We agree. Cool.

3) I think we've been consistently successful. It's easy to wish for a stop every time and a bucket on the other end, but it's not always that black and white.

4) We're seeing different stuff. I see a much better player, when he's not deferring to Wayne, Tyler, or JP, which he shouldn't do anyway. His shot looks better and his D, while still needing work, at least doesn't keep him off the floor anymore. These last two games he's just showing more because he finally has to take control. Some kids can't play without being the man, just like others play better as a 3rd option (Tyler).

5) We agree again. I may turn on the PS3 in a minute now, as my work may be done here.

6) Smart is learned, for the most part, so if you feel that way, it's never too late to change that. Just like with a little hustle and work in the gym JP could go pro, with some hustle and education you can do whatever you want as well. Stay up, man. We're all Vols.

1) He had a set-back, yet when he came back and got his feet under him, he never really looked different.

3) In the regular season? Yes, I agree. In the Tourney? No.

4) I will wait to see with Hopson. Last two games? Awesome job. D looked great. Yet just like at the beginning of the year, I will reserve judgment.

6) Exactly. We are all Vols. So let's hold the cheap shots, the saying "i'm right and you're wrong stuff" (not just you btw), and let's talk basketball.

Must not have been to a Vandy game lately. They are ridiculous over there

This might hurt my feelings if you haven't shown such a propensity to being wrong.

This from the guy bashing 'his peer', CBP, the day after UT's biggest win ever. Hahaha! All you've proven is how stubborn you are, and how little you understand. Congrats.
CYO coach? Rec League 40+? Did you ever say what you coached? What, you'll brag about being a coach but get all coy when it's time to come clean? Somehow I'm having trouble believing you're some great college coach on par with Bruce from both the intelligence level of your posts and your amount of free time spent on VN...

Not a college coach either.

There are several posters on here who know where I coach. I could care less about revealing who I am to a Know-Nothing.

1) I just think that stuff changes a player. Even just time away from the game can do that, without the serious hospital time. Diff sport, but Pacman Jones went from a probowler to garbage by sitting out a year.

3) While 5 tourney wins in 4 years is something to be improved upon, it isn't nothing. Other better teams, like Duke, have had worse upsets over the same period. It is just the nature of the NCAA's. All of CBB is up right now. We can all at least agree that great wins like yesterday's have us headed for another great seed, which is important, right?

4) I'm sure Hops'll have an off game on O eventually, but to say he hasn't improved, esp on D, is nuts. Last year he was like a matador out there.

6) As for cheap shots, trolls get what they deserve. It is sad when there is a more positive vibe for the Vols on the ESPN mb's than on VN. Every thread gets hijacked by 543 and BPV, if not 3 or 4 others. It's the same thing, regardless of what just happened.
So when I make trolls feign ignorance, shut up or leave to avoid the obvious flaws in their argument that I just pointed out, I say it's all for the Vols. If you want to 'talk bball', that's fine, but if you are going to say my coach can't coach on the Vols fan site, or anywhere, I'm going to disagree, as would anyone with even the slightest concept of win/loss ratios. I just want that same UT love that VN gives football for hoops as well, instead of the smarmy Dennis Miller cracks and belligerent confusion.

What? You didn't see what a huge factor in yesterday's victory Pearl's beloved press was?

what was the turnover margin again, brainiac? the zone worked as well, and I doubt it was McBee who decided to run that. inbounds pressure, leaking out for the break, spread and drive or hit the 3? how can you be so wrong, dennis? get a closer seat. give me another great thesaurus joke, you SAT wizard!

And you were accusing me of thinking I was better than people! What a little hypocrite.
Your ego is so hilarious. Do you realize how you come off, big shot? Wow. Why all the secrecy? Afraid the truth might set you free? What kind of busted coach spends all day on VN posting really weak sauce, especially if some of these people know who you really are? I guess job security isn't an issue, which knocks some more job possibilities off the list..
If I cared, I'm sure I could figure it out, but I'm sure once I had it, I'd be like 'never heard of it', and it'd be an even bigger waste of time than your education. Ever tire of being owned?

The sport I coach is not in season.

It's hard for me to try and take someone serious who uses the word "owned."

You're assertion was an opinion.

I enjoyed the win last night, and made that known last night.

As for copy and pasting Hat's stuff over the years. Tough to do when you've only been a member for over a year.

Why is it so hard for some people to believe that on a message board you tend to agree and or befriend people who you agree with. With that said, there have been some things that I have disagreed with Hat on. And to be honest I couldn't pick him out of a lineup of three people.

But thanks for trying.

I'm actually gonna have to go ahead and agree with UT IE 95 on this one. It is one thing to adopt another poster's substantive opinions (indeed, this is to be expected from time to time). But you took it to a whole different level when you started to mimick another poster's (hat's) stylistic tendencies.

Referring to somebody as a slurper and imploring them to go lay down on some train tracks -- and doing this in a single post no less-- is classic hat. You obviously lack creativity.

So if I ask someone to go lay on train tracks I am trying to be someone else?

Come on now.

I have always said that some people would serve society better by leaving earth. The particular poster I said that to was one of those in my eyes.

I hate to pick on you lofton because you're not the only one but he's right. There are several on here who have adopted that exact same style and called it their own.

Percentage wise. I'd say we have the dumbest fan base there is.

Listen to vol calls lately?

Come on now, no one can screw up a bet like my buddy there. I hope someone else copies him and bets me $500 that TN will not make the sweet 16, and if they dont make the sweet 16, they have to pay me $50...

The Stoerner fumble was one play. The probability of everything going right that had to in order to win the Corey Allen game is miniscule.

I'm pretty young, and know some about UT basketball, but please explain the Corey Allen game to me.

What, hat too obscure for even his own boys? He does that on purpose. It's supposed to make you think he's smarter than you (it's worked on a lot of you), but the effort and repetition of obscurities reveals huge insecurities. He goes out of his way being obscure to appear smart, which smart people don't have to do, as it's not something they need to prove. I'm sure he's a decent lawyer, though, as he approaches this site in the same way a lawyer would a case. Look for the argument you can win, no matter how off topic, and twist the focus to your argument. He tries that a lot, albeit not very gracefully. If he was that smart, he'd be convincing me instead of dodging and reframing the discussion. If he was that smart, it wouldn't be so obvious he had personal issues with CBP.
When Dennis Miller humor becomes contagious, it's time for me to leave. I couldn't even read through all the BPV posturing. You trolls have fun with your new "I'm a better coach than CBP thread". What egos.

Dude, he asks a simple question to explain about a basketball game played in '93 and this is the response?

You need to lighten up and back off your crusade against the "trolls".

Having a difference of opinions is one thing, but this is getting ridiculous.
