1. Solid win against a bad opponent. The first 15 minutes were brilliant defensively.
2. Wayne Chism did exactly what he should do against stiffs like Sam Muldrow. He should always assert himself against lousy posts.
3. Bobby Maze and Melvin Goins played pretty good defense against Devan Downey. He's always going to get his points, but they kept him from controlling the game.
4. Renaldo Woolridge continues to regress. He looks worse every time out.
5. The injury to Cam Tatum is really tough. This team doesn't need Josh Bone and Steve Pearl logging minutes this upcoming stretch of games.
6. Without Downey, SC is a bad Big South team. They're in serious trouble next year.
7. Not sure why, but something about Darrin Horn screams "Quinn Snyder, Part II." I don't think South Carolina is going to be happy with the ultimate results he produces.
8. South Carolina should cancel their trip to Lexington. That has some 101-40 style Big Blue vengeance written all over it.
9. Great comeback by Ole Miss. They desperately needed that.
10. Giving Todd Raleigh a live mic is a bad idea. I was waiting for him to try and sell some 2002 Ford Explorers.

I will agree with S. Carolina not being a good team. I was proud of our defense the whole game against Downey.

Even though it didn't happen very often, every time something bad happened, Woolridge was right in the middle of it. He should never be allowed to shoot period, much less 3's. He also can't defend without fouling.

good report.. we need to get tougher on the boards.. they got so many offensive rebounds it made my head spin.. alot of the defensive boards that we got were deflections out to the free throw/ wing area that went straight to our guards.. Woolridge needs to play D with his feet and not his arms. Scotty Hopson needs to drive more, hope that Florida jumper gave him the confidence to take over if needed to. Bobby Maze reminded me of Allen Iverson. Wayne Chism is a beast, really going to miss his leadership, attitude, charisma next year.

As far as Horn and Snyder, it is the haircuts. Although I know you were referring to coaching and results.

Does Horn have the same coaching tendencies or the same "personal" qualities?

Wasn't there another coach in the SEC who came from WKU? How'd that work out?

I agree with most of it. But comedy should be left to people who are funny. By the way it's basketball. You shoot from the line well, hustle, get to the board, and who knows? Maybe we take one of two from Kentucky. We are a Six or seven loss team with a bad seed in March. But..........? You never know. Just glad I'm interested these days.

Thanks for that...

it was a much improved defense. My hope is we are building towards our biggest games of the year - KY. I watch thme and they are so talented. I am hoping Pearl wil out coach them. There has to be a gameplan out there that equalizes theie length and talent. i believe we can run with them, but we will need people to step up.; A complete gamefrom the team, as they say.

Completely agree. The first half was the best display of half-court defense that I have ever seen under a Bruce Pearl team.

I sit on the opposite side from the students. our section started the Just like football chant in 314 first row. What I wasnt sure was when Downey had ball at stripe the students were chanting something. Was it "YOU CAN'T DUNK IT!!"???? Thats what it sounded like and it makes sense seeing as how short Downey is.

While I agree with everyone's accessment about our defensive play it should be pointed out that South Carolina had one of the weakest half court offenses that we will ever see. 4 assists and 4 guys standing around watching one little guy dribble around for 20 seconds and then see is he going to draw a foul or fall back and shoot. Awful.

Unfortunately for them the aforementioned 4 standing around guys are awful so I don't have a solution for South Carolina but there was effectively no half court offense, no passing, no movement, no cutting, no screening, it was simply terrible.

They chanted Gary Coleman. Gary Coleman.

And then they did the I'm a little tea pot short and stout cheer. I'm not sure what else they put together.
