Where was Doug Roth? :)

Wow, Rob Jones, Travis Henry, Doug Roth. I'm reminded that DeVoe sure took a lot of local kids.

I went to high school with Roth. (Yes, I went to Karns.) I know that guy was going to be a bust while he was still in high school. He wasn't even the best player on his team. I can't tell you how many times I watched him F some play up and said to the guy next to me, "THAT guy is going to be playing at UT next year?!?"

Hey freak. someone posted something about no more sexy avatars. is that true? not that it matters to me. i like showing the Vol avatars since thats the board we are on but , it never hurts to see a woman with a nice frame!

We just try to keep them in check but inevitably people push the limits and some cross the line of what we allow.

Joey Brooks was easily the best player on that Karns team.

I sit on the opposite side from the students. our section started the Just like football chant in 314 first row. What I wasnt sure was when Downey had ball at stripe the students were chanting something. Was it "YOU CAN'T DUNK IT!!"???? Thats what it sounded like and it makes sense seeing as how short Downey is.

Spud was 5'5" when he had his first dunk as a high school senior.

I like a close, competitive game just as much as the next guy... but it sure is a lot more fun when the Vols junk punch the opponent.

Was just sitting here trying to come up with his name. It's been awhile. Roth went to UT, and Brooks was stuck with Furman. Too bad.
Joey was just a couple of inches too short to be an elite player. Had he been 6'9", he'd have been in one of the big time leagues.

that makes 2 of us. lol well at least we know our role. hahaha

Not to brag (too much), but it was more like Woody Harrelson for me in those scenarios. I played the "white boy can play" role pretty well in my time. Anyone who's done that knows how fun it is to be the one white dude who's killing it, or at least holding his own.

I apologize again. i dont have a media guide. just going on memeory as a young person.

Gray played for one season after Houston left and was booted by O'neill. He ended up at Cal. However, you are right about the talent on that 4-24 team. The talent was not nearly as bad as their record. They had Steve Hamer, LaMarcus Golden and Gray.

A decent coach could've made them go .500 even with guys like Shun Sheffield.

Even though it didn't happen very often, every time something bad happened, Woolridge was right in the middle of it. He should never be allowed to shoot period, much less 3's. He also can't defend without fouling.

LOL, without his MOMENTUM changing 3-3 in 1:30 against KU, we probably lose that game by 12. Jus Sayin - Swiperboy Killin

That's a great reason to continue to run him out there. Hell, by that logic, McBee's triple at the end of that game should get him 35 minutes a night.

I am just curious if any of the folks here on the bball home remember the Wade Houstoun, Kevin ONeil, Jerry Green, Buzz Peterson years? I would not ever want to go back to that brand of basketball again. I just wish we would play hard every night for a full game.

Wade was the worst hire in the history of sports. He was a decent recruiter but just awful coaching. My memory of him will be the stomp. Sits on his hands and does nothing most of the game but gets up once or twice a game and stomps his foot. He was criminally bad at coaching. I seem to recall that some indicated his firing was a racial thing. He was just bad.

exactly remember that 60 point loss to kentucky. that should never happen in a conference game. thats a spread a ranked team puts on an early tuneup patsy.:cray:
