We were in Fortson's final 3. Needless to say after all we've heard about him and after what I saw tonight, I'm glad we don't have him.

I have not seen a team this year that was more miserable than Arkansas. If Arky is serious about their basketball program, Pelphrey will be gone after this year.

I didn't personally watch any of the games. He was there 2 years I think (might be wrong on that) and his team got worse the second year.

I just thought he would have better success at a school like Ark. It looks like Memphis does a better job at picking a young coach than Arkansas does.

Pelphrey has no business coaching Paintsville High School, let alone Arkansas.

As a Winthrop alum who roomed with a basketball player there, I would heartily not recommend Arkansas to do that. That would mean Arky would be good again!

In all seriousness, he is an unbelievable coach who manages a game better than almost anyone I have ever seen. Some of those Winthrop teams were totally overmatched in the tournament and he still managed to put up great efforts. I believe he had 8 Big South championships in 10 years. Truly remarkable coach, though he has a little bit of a mean streak and some truly unbelievable and awesome tirades.

Oh, and wife is sort of a pistol. She got in a fight with a UNC Asheville student during the middle of game about six years ago. Truly hilarious.

I think he's a big time up and comer. I was at the game when we played Winthrop during Pearl's first year. I was extremely impressed with him. He also has done a nice job at rebuilding Wichita State. If I was Arkansas, I'd take him in a heartbeat over that idiot that's coaching them now.

He basically took a program that hadn't won anthing since they were in NAIA and used to play in a middle school gymnasium and dominated the conference.
