Putting their asses in fold down web seats for a direct C-17 flight from Andrews to Baghram would suit me just fine. Both Reps and Dims.LOL can you imagine if Congress had to fly Space-A? I'd also like to see these high brow douches have to spend the $85 to get the Pre-Check like the rest of us peons.
The moment Trump espoused support for a wall, it wasn't going to be supported by any Democrat. Donald is employing some of the same rhetoric about border security that was used by both parties in the 90s and even into the 2000s.
We can just show soccer or those ridiculous spanish language melodramas. That'll stop em in their tracks. That might work if it constantly showed these pictures.

I'm not sure about presidential candidates. Bill Clinton called for "hundreds of miles of new barriers at the border" during a SOTU address I believe in 1996 and used terms like "criminal aliens" and "illegal aliens" without anybody thinking it was racist.Did any other presidential candidate in the last 30 years call for building a giant wall? I don't remember any.
That’s because there’s nothing wrong with those terms. It’s only become taboo with the new wave of “white man bad everyone else good” mentality.I'm not sure about presidential candidates. Good post!!The moment Trump espoused support for a wall, it wasn't going to be supported by any Democrat. Donald is employing some of the same rhetoric about border security that was used by both parties in the 90s and even into the 2000s. There is a deliberate conflation of immigration with illegal immigration in some (not all) of the critiques of Trump. In most (not all) of his more over the top statements, he pretty explicitly is talking about illegal immigration. His infamous "they're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime, they're rapists, and some I'm sure are good people" line was about illegal immigrants. That isn't a line I would have said if I was running for president and trying to gin up support for my ideas, but it is nowhere near as outrageous as his detractors try to make it sound.
Trump is divisive, of course, but the reflexive "Trump is for it, so I'm against it" (or vice versa) attitude that we see now is unlike anything I've ever seen. Perhaps even surpassing Republicans' reflexive opposition to anything Obama opposed.
Good post!!
I guess Trump and the immediate rejection by many of anything he proposes is a little of a chicken or the egg question. Of course, I place almost 100% of the blame on Trump and the way he chose to run his campaign.
I consider the bolded part of your post as proving my position. The reason it is unlike anything we have ever seen is because Trump is unlike anything we have ever seen. His whole strategy from day one was to be divisive, insulting, abrasive, abusive, and polarizing. (not to mention he is an habitual liar) His base ate it up and he rode it to victory. For anyone not to have foreseen this fallout is naive at best. He is toxic, and he has made not a single effort to change that,
If someone thinks it's racist to use them, that's fine. I'll agree to disagree. However, what they won't do is say that Bill Clinton was racist for using them in the 90s, or they'll make some excuse for how "times have changed."That’s because there’s nothing wrong with those terms. It’s only become taboo with the new wave of “white man bad everyone else good” mentality.

Everybody gives politicians they agree with benefit of the doubt, or outright excuse or ignore, behavior they excoriate politicians they disagree with for.
My favorite term is that their views have “Evolved”. It’s a clever, yet total cop out.If someone thinks it's racist to use them, that's fine. I'll agree to disagree. Trump certainly is partially to blame for just how divisive he is. However, look at something like tariffs. These are things that Democrats, especially union Democrats, have advocated for years. It isn't exactly a conservative position. Trump is strongly in favor of them, yet Democrat support for them is tepid at absolute best and all the "neoliberal" Dems of course oppose them. Why? Because they can't stand to be associated with a policy Trump supports, even if it is something they're previously on record as supporting.Good post!!
