Not "just a speech." It's the only one specifically mentioned in the Constitution required of the President.

I think the first step was the 2000 election and they just slowly became more radical. Where does it lead is the scariest part

You won't get any argument here.

Though I will say Pelosi's CODEL should have been canceled prior to Trump doing it. And by her specifically. With the government shut down, you'd think she'd be focusing on trying to hammer out a deal to reopen it instead of heading halfway around the world.

The 2000 election was the turning point. I was at work (Air Force) and I remember this guy named Garza come in and acting like the world just ended because Gore lost. He even went on to say how he was going to say he was gay so he could get kicked out because being in the military under Bush was unthinkable. I laughed at the crazy but little did I know it was apparently contagious among the no natural selection is why we exist crowd.
