I believe the House passed a budget in December that the President would have signed. But of course you don't hear that on CNN

Actually, Paul Ryan is to blame.

He had control of the House for two years in which the funding could have (should have) been passed.

Why would the system break? Everyone is still working even though they aren't getting paid. If someone of them grow a pair and start calling out sick or quit THEN you'll see an issue..but its hard to walk away from that $150,000 a year job..

Bigger issue if it keeps going is new hires are going to leave. They’re making $40K a year and I know many won’t be able to stick around much longer after missing this second paycheck. Additionally the delay it’s putting on training and hiring people will have an affect, but that won’t be felt until months or years down the road.

All of that only applies to my line of work obviously.

I was wondering about the new hires for ATC. Figured they probably got screwed. Not sure people realize there is no quick replacement for ATC nowadays if yall do a mass sick call out (do it!).

I was caught in a training window before getting checked out for my new job so I'm on a furlough vacation.
