The shut down thread

You implied she didn't care by offering one sentence, out of context. It's a familiar and often accepted and repeated misconception by the weak minded, I was simply trying to save you further embarrassment.

I'd like to believe that had you been versed on the subject in something other than internet memes, read (and comprehended) her entire statement - you'd have not looked so ignorant.

You're welcome.

My original comment had nothing to do with a meme, rather, it had to do with her incontrovertible comments surrounding the fact that -how- this occurred was of no concern to her.

Septic, I’ll try to deliver this as solemnly and humbly as I can - your tank needs cleaning.

I'm in awe of the political courage that it must have taken to shutdown the government on a Friday night and then reopen it at lunchtime Monday.

Pure Courage of Their Convictions type stuff.

Yeah... the Democrats have made it clear that they were only going to hold out as long as they had some cover from Republicans. Once Graham and Flake buckled, Schumer did as well. Not a surprise. It's always a political game.

Now, having said that - by all accounts, Trump was not involved in any discussions over the weekend with any Democrats at all.

I guess.

Would it make any difference if the root cause was just poor home training by these guys versus being militant/radical terrorists that hated Americans?

No, the issue isn't whether it was an organized raid or a bunch of guys out looking for some fun. The point was that our government didn't protect the people that it sent into an unstable environment; and for that, heads should have rolled - starting at the top.

If you don't understand that as a minimum a fixed installation in that area has to be defended against small easily moved weapons such as RPGs, mortars, and heavy machine guns (whether placed in fortified positions or vehicles), then you are either completely unqualified for leadership or place no value on the lives of others.

If people at the top in the State Dept haven't figured out by now that knocking off a dictator opens a power vacuum and instability, then they themselves should be the front line fodder.

When doing a post accident investigation you always look for the root cause factors. So no the question wasn't irrelevant.

The question nobody I can remember asking was why was the ambassador there.
To get kidnapped and swapped for the blind sheik.

I guess.

It would make a difference if this (which it was) a deliberate and planned attack vs a moment of opportunity. How did they know our ambassador was going to be there and how did they plan a coordinated attack without us knowing?

You nailed it. Nobody was committed enough to this shutdown to even slightly take any heat. Still though, I don't get what Schumer and the Democrats got out of any of this.

...And were probably going to do this all over again in 3 weeks.

CNN: "The President stumbled his way to a political victory."

I don't even like Trump all that much, but how many times do you have to see a stupid guy win before it dawns on toy that he's not stupid?

So a completely pointless political stunt, the Dems finally realized how dumb they looked, and caved. Nice work guys

They had a little help, we all know how they love those CNN polls.

I haven't heard anything that sounds like they're any closer to immigration reform. Schumer looks bad now. They're miles away from a bill. But regardless of what his press secretary says, it's not clear what Trump actually wants.

Perfectly clear what he wants, end chain migration and the lottery system, fund the wall. Schumer’s political theatrics have backfired big time. 😂

So, what good did the shut down do?

Did it hurt the Repubs or Dems worse? It sounds like the bigger black eye was to the Dems, who gave appearances that they were willing to hurt citizens in support of non-citizens.

If it hurt anyone, what was gained to make it worth it?

The biased MSM is spinning it in a way that the damage will be more heavily felt by the dems. I think the damage either way will be slight by November.

The best thing about these last two shutdowns is it reveals the useful idiots on each side, who are ready and willing to go along with their team, no matter what.
But they will keep getting re-elected, over and over and over...

This changes nothing.

It's that we see much more than just the "wins". How many times does a person have to do something truly stupid before it dawns on toy that he's just stupid?

That's precisely my point. Had you understood the context and been aware of the full quote you'd stop looking foolish by foisting that she didn't care about the "how."

Read below, slowly. Then read it again. If the words are too hard, ask an adult for help.

With all due respect, the fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided that they’d they go kill some Americans? What difference at this point does it make? It is our job to figure out what happened and do everything we can to prevent it from ever happening again, Senator.

See that? That's the missing "how."

You've tried to imply that she didn't care by dangling a popular anti hillary myth. As I stated before, now you're educated - you're welcome.

On a side note, the septic tank pictures are hilarious. I mean, not as hilarious as they were back in 2004 when I was giving you clowns ittty twisters. But still, very clever.
