The shut down thread

That there’s no positive reason to be against the wall.

Your attempt to troll is noted.

Not spending gobs of money on security theater for a manufactured "crisis" is a positive reason.

Your attempt to deflect from a rational debate is also noted.

First things first, we need to secure the points of entry with vehicle scanners so we can scan every vehicle. I read where that can be accomplished for under $1B.

I don’t care if it’s a

Oh no. Spending many times more the gibs of money on absolute trash is clearly the way to go. Of course you’re the guy who refuses to condemn the raping of 6-year olds as long as an illegal does the raping so I’m not surprised in your retardation.

I don’t care if it’s a “Wall” or not but we do need majorly beefed up security. Everyone should be on board with that.

Most of us were, and then the GOP came along with the 27 dwarves, and the Dims put Hiliarly in the lineup. Sometimes it's all about the least of the evils.

It’s always been the least of two evils for the 50+ years I’ve been voting. One time I was really slightly enthused but then he yupped and picked a woman who couldn’t state what newspaper she read and said she knew about foreign affairs because she could see Russia from her back porch

oh the good days of SNL

Not the same, the SNL broad said something like "I can see Russia from my house" She never said that

Now there's a distinction with a difference!

Why do you have knowledge of foreign affairs with Russia?

(1) I can see Russia from my house.

Vs.

(2) Russia's our neighbor. There are parts of Alaska from where you can see Russia.

Is (2) really any better than (1)?

for starters, (2) is true.

Well... it’s a tough thing to do at Disney since... you know... they have barriers on the property lines to insure people use the controlled access points 😏

Yes, seeking asylum (especially where the law provides that anyone physically present in the US can seek asylum) and going to Disney are clearly on all fours.

So now we’re deflecting to asylum. Ok.

So if it’s asylum you seek since it can only be given if it’s applied for to the gov why isn’t a controlled access point the first thing you seek?

Coming across illegally and getting caught 6 MOs later and THEN claiming asylum is the logical course of action?

standing in line and waiting your turn is hard

Clearly, this is a crisis and if we don't build an expensive symbol of wasteful government, things might get as bad as they were in....the early 2000's? On second thought, things were actually pretty good back then, so let's tell some scary anecdotal stories about how an immigrant is going to bash your head in with a hammer if we don't have a wall.

The next time I go to Asia (Monday) I will try to remember to get a picture of the terrain radar when we are over that area. It is shocking how close it is. What is even more shocking that I never knew before is how close Russia is to Japan.

She didn’t say from her house.

Yes, you can see Russia from Alaska.

Obama declared a national emergency entitled, "Blocking Property of Persons Threatening the Peace, Security, or Stability of Yemen" in order to freeze the assets of anyone perceived to be negatively impacting a political transition in Yemen, VOA reported. In 2014, the 44th president issued a national emergency referred to as "Blocking Property of Certain Persons Contributing to the Situation in Ukraine," which similarly locked the assets of those thought to be undermining democratic processes in Ukraine. These are just two of many internationally-oriented states of emergency that Obama declared while in office.
