The shut down thread

LOL! Your exact words were "EVERY President doesn't take bad credit, not a one of them." You didn't say there had to be a time frame restricted to your lifetime (I have no idea how old you are). I did mention Obama's show of accountability for the Democrats poor showing in the 2014 mid-term elections in post #1,999. He even specifically said that "The buck stops right here at my desk." I assume that you are at least 12 years old and can remember that.
and I already accounted for that one by Obama. and that is actually one I would give him a pass for.

I am glad our modern presidents are so much like Lincoln and Washington. Oh wait they aren't.

and Congress has no opinion on the matter what so ever?
Their opinion on the matter is open the government.. Trump is the only one using this shutdown for political gain. No need for you to play devil's advocate to show your support for the border wall.

lol. I have already argued with the red hatters that the wall is a dumb idea.

but you aren't capable of complex thought. you said something wrong and got called on it.

both sides need to pull the stick out their butts and work something out. in my world they wouldn't spend any additional money on it. we spend too much and this is fair game too imo.

If I was president I would offer dropping additional funding for the walls in exchange for upholding the laws on the book and complete removal of sanctuary cities and stuff like that. I still have no idea how those haven't been blown up in court.

heck I would through in some reform to our immigration process, to make it faster, as well for some other points too.

No it’s not. It’s to go to Puerto Rico. The ONLY reason they don’t vote for it is because Trump wants it. That’s it.

The manufactured crisis of a government shutdown to get money for the wall is all on Trump. Earmarking the hell out of it is not the simple solution. The shutdown is all on Trump and only an idiot would argue otherwise.

^^^^^^^
Only an idiot would argue that this is all on one side or the other.

I rest my case.

So, you support his declaring an emergency so he can do it alone?

Trump literally said it'd be on him. He alone had and has the ability to sign the continuing resolution agreed upon by the house and senate.

He planted his flag, it's on him - 100% of it. The wall is important enough to him for 800,000 people to not get a paycheck, not make rent or feed their families.

Apparently, those trying to shoehorn this onto the democrats just don't have the conviction of how important this is to the red hat agenda (or don't understand).

So NOW you believe what he says?.

That's rich, only because it suits you.

What? He took ownership of it knowing full well what the political cost was going to be. Up front, he explicitly stated these things.

Of course, I don't trust what he said because in less than 24 hours - he reversed course and tried to pin the blame on the dems. I don't say these things because they "suit me", I say them because they are indisputable facts and you're ignoring them.

Dude, abandon this argument.

Nope. The Dems could end this by negotiating instead of going to Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

They already negotiated, the GOP senate agreed to terms.

What part of this don't you grasp? It wasn't until hannity, limbaugh and coulter made fun of his tiny hands did trump pump the brakes.

Sure that's exactly what happened.

In your mind.

No he isn't. It's for the safety of our country and to stop billions going to people that aren't US citizens.

See @37L1 , @Orange_Vol1321 isn't afraid to admit that Trump owns it. Either have the conviction to stand up for your beliefs or don't but stop pretending to be intellectually honest. You want it both ways but are afraid to own the painful part.

If Trump says the shutdown is entirely on him and everything he says is a lie, is it really just on him?

Congress can end this too. They don’t care about the 800,000. Hell, some went on vacation.
