The shut down thread

So it's been about a month now and I'm still able to drive, buy groceries, my lights are still on as is my water and sewer. I must be missing something here when 400,000 people aren't going to work and everything works just fine.

Glad everything is fine for you, meanwhile people are being raped and murdered by hoards of illegal immigrants crossing the border illegally. How do you sleep at night?

So now Pelosi is telling Trump to cancel the SOTU address. She may delay it. Citing "security concerns".

Hooray for government squabbles and pettiness

Actually there are a bunch of Hispanics working down the street from my house building a house. Haven't heard one damn word of English any time I walk by there. I sleep well knowing that I can shoot any bastard that F's with me.

Are you saying there's a bunch of them down the street and they haven't moved on you yet? Hmm.

Something doesn't add up, as we all know - they're here to rape your job and take your wife.

They were trying to tell him that when he walked by.

I'm glad it doesn't affect you or me. But it's not just 400,000 people, it's 400,000 families. Not to mention the people they own money to who aren't getting paid. I agree it's not huge problem for most of us but overall it's not a good thing.

Since when do dims care about who their policies affect?

The SOTU format really isn't his style, but you think he wants to miss out on the TV attention it garners?

Considering a bunch of Dems sat out the first one and those that attended looked pissed and didn't appear to support things most people do I can see likewise why she wants to avoid a repeat of last year.

There was nothing unique about last year's SOTU.
