The Thread Where People Argue About Kneeling in the NFL (merged)

CNN reports that this little antic cost the taxpayers a couple hundred grand, plus advance team and secret service costs. So let's figure $250,000, conservatively.

As a taxpayer, I think it fair to require that this be reimbursed. As it was Trump's caper, as he has admitted, I expect him to personally write the check.

If he does not, Congress should investigate and take action.

Because he didn't watch the game? He went bc Peyton was being honored and left. I agree it was a waste of tax dollars but so is every type event they go to like this. You just aren't happy bc he left early. Or did he protest a protest? ( side note I have no problem with the NFL protest)

So you want the government to waste more money investigating something that matters nothing? How is it every turn you are just a hack?

Trips for partisan politics are typically reimbursed by the political party.

This was a set up. Press were told to stay in the vans, not to bother to go on and set up, because they expected to fake leave early due to the kneeling they expected. They had a press release ready to go. Trump is taking credit for telling Pence to do it.

It was planned. Pence and Trump were counting on it, simply to make yet another statement on the issue.

You may or may not agree with that statement. Irrelevant. Every tax payer should be royally pizzed off at the contrived theatrics of it. And Trump should pay the tab.

What if no one kneeled?

And I am pissed that we pay for this nonsense anyways. He left early. Who cares ?

Oh you can pretty much GTFO with your indignation when you yourself believe conservatives don't want their children sitting next to minorities in school. It was laughable and offensive. I am engaged and my soon to be step child is half black. So please feel free to go f yourself or apologize. Not to me. Apologize for being a obvious partisan hack that you have time and again proven yourself to be.

And you should probably look into the back story of why Pence was their. It wasn't to walk out. He was invited for the Manning ceremony by PM himself. He left after the ceremony.

Pence expected they would. He counted on it.

Kind of surprised here that, as Peyton fans, you aren't a little more aggravated that they used his being honored as a pretext to stage Pence's walk out. I mean, think about it. It's an insult to the whole event.

Whole thing reeks. Trump must pay the tab.

Watching you guys try to carry this administration's water is hysterical. Draining the swamp, one wasted tax payer dollar at a time. LOL

I especially love the fact that trumpo undermined pence by taking credit for the stunt.

Another rough weekend for trumpo the clown, getting destroyed by corker and following it up with an wasteful, ill advised, ridiculous attempt to distract his sheep from the fact that he is utterly incompetent.

See my edit. And he honored PM which is why he attended.

And you are a partisan, racist, offensive hack.

Tough talk, there, keyboard warrior.

But hey, it was Pence and Trump who said he left because of the kneeling, not because the Peyton ceremony was over and that's all he was there for.

Tell me, oh laughably self righteous one, are they lying?

Oh tell me how you think it's ok to say white conservative people only want white people in schools with them? You planted your flag on that hill.

Oh interestingly enough, that comment by you, is probably more offensive then anything Tump has said. Yes even worse then grab her by the you know what. You basically chose to die on the hill of 4 million people don't want minorities around them. How absurd and stupid.

And I don't GFAF why he left. We shouldn't pay for it.

The Peyton statue was dedicated on Saturday. I thought the jersey retirement took place during halftime. If so, Pence is a double turd, which is still at least one turd less than trump.

You are really okay with Pence's charade?

Will be interesting to see if Peyton makes any kind of statement denying he knew of the planned gimmick.

Why the **** would Peyton say anything? You are one petty mother f.....er.

Stolen from elsewhere:

If you voted for someone who said he prefers soldiers who don't get captured, who insulted the parents of a gold star captain, who said he knew more than the generals, who said he always wanted a Purple Heart, who dodged the draft, and who called the US military a disaster, please don't pretend that you're angry at those who kneel during the anthem because it's disrespectful to our military.

And if you voted for that person because he's not politically correct and he says what's on his mind, please don't tell me that kneeling during the anthem is wrong.

And if you voted for a reality show star because he's an outsider and not a career politician, please don't tell me that athletes shouldn't voice their political views.

And if you voted for him because he cares about the Constitution, please don't tell me that people shouldn't exercise their right to free speech.

And if you voted for him because, despite his wealth and comfortable life, he was willing to go out there, be made a target, and say what's really wrong with this country, please don't tell me that black athletes should just shut up and be grateful to be rich.

Just take it out of his salary. Oh wait.....

So you trust government more than the people?
Interesting twist for you.

Being obtuse is a full time job for you.

It is much easier to hold a state senator and state representative accountable than it is is a US Senator. I can actually go to Ferrel's house and voice my displeasure to him. Try that with Corker or Alexander.
