The Thread Where People Argue About Kneeling in the NFL (merged)

Pardon if has already been addressed but I keep seeing some media saying the NFL needs to learn from the NBA about handling this stuff, but doesn't the NBA require players to stand? Or did they do a better job coming to some sort of agreement?

This whole thing is starting to remind me of a fight as kids where a brawl breaks out, then it starts to die down and everyone is about to move on, then someone from one side throws one more punch and it starts back up again; then same thing and someone from the other side throws one more punch, and the ones trying to keep the peace keep yelling "Why did you do that, it was almost blown over!"

I don't get why the NFL doesn't just eliminate the question and keep them in the tunnel until after the anthem.

Total BS. We’ve already been over this and you claimed to not know it then either.

Lies

Why in the world would I lie about that?

I looked up SJW yesterday because I had no idea what it meant. Once again you guys prove how horribly wrong you can be in your judgement of others. There is a great chance that I saw SJW months ago and had no clue what it was, someone told me, and I completely forgot. I'll tell you now, that there is a distinct chance I will not know it 6 months from now if I don't see it again for awhile.

Your willingness to jump to the wrong conclusion and call me a liar is sad. It speaks poorly of the type of person you choose to be. Dark soul you have there tums.

Well yeah, to me that's the best option and how it was prior up til 2009. But seems like that toothpaste is out of the tube now.

I think players staying in the locker room will piss off those that demand all players stand for the anthem and won't be good enough, and will piss off those that think they should have the opportunity to kneel and won't be good enough. The NFL has created an all or nothing situation for both sides.

You tell me. You’ve already lied about this.

That would have worked on the front end and while it would prevent it from happening in the future it would raise another issue at least for a short time.

Nope. There are far more that will NEVER be good enough to play at the next level than those that MIGHT have the chance

There are two parts to my post.....you are fixated on just the NFL portion......I repeat......"narrow minded".....

Just. stop.

They will be pissed right up to the point where they make that TD saving tackle or score that game winning TD.

There's no collusion to not sign him. He's doing it to himself. He's too big of a distraction. His play isn't worth the media circus he'll bring to the team.

NFL owners want to win. They'll roster whoever can help them do that until that players distractions outweigh their contributions.

The Cowboys were able to rationalize the locker room cancer that is Greg Hardy in order to help us win. So yeah if the benefits outweigh the costs somebody would have signed him. I agree with that.

Talk to Canada.

Also, it doesn’t matter if he’s better than anyone. He’s not good enough to overcome the major distraction he’d be.

Hmm.. Why hasn't Kap looked north for employment? Would make sense. Play in the CFL for awhile. If he has the talent and it shines through, it could open the door for a return to the NFL. Warren Moon and Doug Flutie both played in the CFL then signed to an NFL team. As is, it seems he's more interested in making a political statement than actually playing football. That alone would make me hesitant to want him on my team.
